I hope obama raises some things $15 too. Some of you people will probably have to draw your check from a different source now that the county will be broke. I wouldn't celebrate a raise that we don't have money to sustain.
The sky is falling and the raise is just like hitler. LOLZ

If there is one thing that Carla Jordan is NOT, it's a fake!!! She will certainly tell you like it is when it is necassary and I've known Carla since High School, she is absolutely not two faces either!! I'm not sure what your personal problem is with her but she's a wonderful person that you've obviously never had the pleasure of knowing!
If there is one thing that Carla Jordan is NOT, it's a good school board member.

Goog ridance. We will not miss you.

Good idea boys.. let's burn up all the extra money on meaningless raises so everyone can get an extra dessert at cracker barrel and olive garden. No one needed this raise. Yes, the end result is the kids will lose. Most likely, you will also see layoffs like never before. Good job!

But thats what they ended up doing.
The raise was a good thing for the employees it's just the way it was done thats gonna hurt the system you need to get rid of the wasteful spending to give them a raise not take it out of the emergency funds.Poor spending habits = Broken system It never mattered to them before so why the change of heart now? It's just the three on the way out making an even bigger mess than what they already had made for the county!

Yes because up to now the 5 of them have been managing the tax payers money wonderfully and hired such a awesome superintendent with a wonderful record.

If the teachers woun't have gotten that raise I just know our schools would be at the top of the state anytime now. But now its all ruined.

The bright side is we all have something else to blame besides the parents.

I would go along with that if they hold the kids and parents accountable for bad behavior, refusing to do assignments etc...
Hell, lets tie it into their SSI, Welfare checks. Most ppl on here are still viewing education and schools like it was before the 90's. Kids today tell their parents what to do, they are disrespectful to everyone in the school system. Yet the teachers are supposed to make the school system move up in the rankings. Reinstitute paddling back into the schools, then a huge majority of the discipline problems we cease to exist. But I can hear the parents now, NOT my baby, they never lie or do anything wrong. Clean out the Board and you would be able to give a 6-8% raise with no problem. Blaming the teachers just show how uneducated you are.

Blaming the teachers just shows how uneducated you are and we are uneducated because of parents. OK Got it.

Who do we blame for the uneducated teachers they hire? The school boards parents?

I agree with you about bringing the paddling back that would make the kids at least think twice before acting up at school,I can remember when I was in school they sure didn't care to break out the paddle and after they gave you a few ole dad or mom would give you a few too,Spare the rod and spoil the child is what I have always been taught and the way it's looking this day and time it's got to be true!

Funny you think it so terrible the three Board members voted the same way. You never said anything terrible about it when all five of them had their minds made up and voted a certin way all the times before. These three stood up for Tommy Smith too. I think these three have been doing the right thing since then.

Apparently the majority of knox county doesn't agree with you but everybody's got the right to their opinion

You couldn't be more wrong if you said the sky was green and the grass was blue. Carla Jordan has been a wonderful board member. I think it is extremely unfortunate that she will not be running again in two years.

Don't get me wrong, yes I would love to have a raise. However, I do not want it under the stipulations that me or some of my fellow co-workers may be in jeopardy of losing our jobs. I do not want the irrational decision of three scorned men to harm our school system any more than it already is. In my opinion that was there goal before they entered the doors on Tuesday night.

I can't for her to leave. She can't run again. She should quit now and move on. She is useless.
