Corbin newspaper said two assistant supers pink slipped along with some assistant principals. Looks like the interim super and new board is seriously dealing with the waste at the top!

When board members campaign, they talk about spending tax money wisely. That is their duty. We pay the taxes that support Knox County. One assistant super is plenty. Good work guys!

What is up with assistant principals? Back in the day, you had one principal and a secretary. Worked fine. We seem to need an assistant for everything. Can't people just do their own work anymore?

Everyone needs an assistant to do their work. That way every position requires two or three salaries to get the same work done. This county is not exactly rich. Where are all the jobs and taxes that support these assistant positions? The answer is, we don't have any. Knox can't afford all of these ridiculous jobs. So glad these new board members are being this strong. Good job by the new boys!

Well I'm 47 and I never seen an assistant principal until I got to High School and the only thing I seen from that was one sitting on his @ss. People want paid for doing nothing and expect it because we the people wont stand up and say we are tired of it . And yes I said "WE" , I'm just as guilty as anyone because its easier to go with the grain rather than go against it !

The new board members haven't done anything notable yet. If they delete an assistant superintendent position they don't have to move one to another position at the board, but they will. If they really want to save money and get rid of some of the over paid send central office staff and assistant principals back to the classroom. They wouldn't last a week. They would leave the county on their own. But that wouldn't be good for the kids. I've always heard that those who can't teach go to the board. Someone really needs to look at how much teaching experience each person at the board really has. And at what they taught. An elementary teacher can't competently judge or tell a high school teacher what to do and vise versa, but the do. But you don't have to be a former educator to know how to run a district, you just have to have help campaigning, be able to make promises that most likely will not be kept, and win the election as board member. I do hope they prove me wrong and this bunch makes a positive difference but I've not seen anything notable yet.
good start though

After the new board members were swore in we have a new board attorney, a new superintendent on the way, and major cuts saving the district thousands and thousands of dollars. This may not be notable but it sure is progress. Keep up the good work.

Best moves by the Knox board yet. Now you're on the right track. The previous board members are really getting exposed now with all this waste. Where do you think it came from? It was under their watch, so thank them for all of your wasted money on all of these unnecessary salaries being paid. This is your money being wasted.

Notable? You can't see it yet? Can you see half a million dollars saved in about one week? Do you see it yet? Obviously a sore loser board member. These boys are trying to fix what it took you years to screw up.

Heard Hulett was at KCHS vs SLHS baseball game on Monday at South, and he was wearing a South Laurel hat. It sure didn't take long to shed the blue and gold.

Managers need to manage.
Teachers need to teach.
Parents need to parent.

Until all three do their jobs then our students will not learn what is necessary at school.
