Republicans Want To Enslave My Generation
If conservatives truly believe that welfare programs are enslaving people, it is their policies that forced them onto public assistance programs in the first place.
Enslavement: An economic means to an end that coupled with hatred to produce a reality of racism that Americans still struggle with today. It is a word that should not be used lightly.
In recent months, many conservatives have felt entitled to its usage. They have linked slavery to food stamps, health care, unemployment benefits, and anything else the government provides to the poor. Their end game is deregulation and corporate control over our democracy.
When a select few in our society hold all the power, we essentially become an oligarchy. A recent study from researchers at Princeton and Northwestern concluded that increasing inequality has demolished the democracy that once built America’s vibrant middle class:“if policy making is dominated by powerful business organizations and a small number of affluent Americans, then America’s claims to being a democratic society are seriously threatened,” it said.
In the old days, oligarchies were built on the backs of slaves. In modern-day America, it’s now the middle class.
Since the 1970s, Republicans championed policies that cheated my parents’ generation out of the American dream and the right to retire with dignity. Corporations now have the same rights as individuals, and workers’ rights have been slowly whittled away.
People working full-time jobs are being forced into poverty. Multibillion-dollar companies pay low wages, and lack of benefits cause many workers to rely on government assistance. People relying on public benefit programs aren’t lazy, unwilling to work or asking for a handout like conservatives would lead many to believe; 73 percent of enrollments in government programs come from working families. If conservatives truly believe that welfare programs are enslaving people, it is their policies that forced them onto public assistance programs in the first place. It’s a national disgrace.
Republicans are now intent using the same broken policies to enslave the next generation of Americans—the millennials. Here’s how:
Denying climate change. Happy Earth Day! Now let’s drill, baby, drill! Republicans in Congress continue to block legislation that combats climate change, while championing King Coal. If climate change is not addressed today, my generation will be forced pay for their ignorance.
Blocking immigration reform. We’re all immigrants. Republicans are keeping millions of our brothers and sisters from a chance to achieve the American dream. They are enslaving them to a life of poverty by keeping them out of full participation in American life.
Refusing to raise the minimum wage. As a generation, we are broke and in debt. If conservatives want to liberate us and get us off the bread lines, they should give us a raise.
Republicans think if they talk enough about saving the world, everything will be ok.
In 30 years, there won't be any Republicans left...so in a wickedly ironic twist...they're right.

Monica Lewinsky breaks silence on Clinton scandal in 'Vanity Fair'

(RNN)- Monica Lewinsky is breaking her 10-year silence with a Vanity Fair article about the sex scandal with former President Bill Clinton.

In a preview of the article, scheduled for release online to subscribers May 8 and on newsstands May 13, Lewinsky said she had been a virtual recluse for the past decade because of the way she was branded by the media after the scandal broke in 1998.

"It's time to burn the beret and bury the blue dress," Lewinsky writes.

So Rand Paul wants to make Medicare private insurance by giving seniors a voucher to go buy insurance on the open market. The voucher system would be based on income levels. It would also include new rules for insurance companies that would prevent them from canceling a person just for getting sick or raising their premiums.
All this sound familiar?
Repubs are always such hypocrites.

Tea Party takes hit in primary test
The GOP establishment notched big wins on Tuesday night’s unofficial primary season launch, dealing an early blow to Tea Party hopes.
In two weeks, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was supposed to be their top scalp, but he looks set to easily cruise by his primary challenge from businessman Matt Bevin.

Before Obamacare, GOP Candidate Was Denied Health Coverage For Adopting A Child
MADISONVILLE, Kentucky — In a parallel universe, Matt Bevin might not be an anti-Obamacare crusader, but instead a poster child for the issues with the old health insurance industry and the ways in which the Affordable Care Act now prevents insurers from taking advantage of consumers.
That’s because Bevin, a Republican Senate candidate trying to unseat Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), himself was once the victim of an unfair insurance industry practice: Denying coverage to consumers because of a pre-existing condition.
During a campaign stop in western Kentucky on Monday, Bevin told the crowd that after leaving a job,“My wife and I literally didn’t have health care for about a year because of a pre-existing condition.”
Was it cancer? Heart disease? Pancreatitis? No. It wasn’t a health condition at all.“I was rather shocked… What it was is that we were adopting. That’s considered a pre-existing condition,” Bevin said. He and his wife have four adopted children from Ethiopia in total. As a result, Bevin noted,“For over a year or so, I had no coverage for my entire family. That’s a little bit unnerving for people.”
Watch it:
Bevin’s experience is exactly the type of ordeal that families no longer have to go through now that Obamacare is the law of the land. Before health reform, millions of Americans were denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions — often, for common and minor ailments like old knee injuries, astha, and even acne. Now, insurers are required to cover people regardless of their pre-existing health conditions. And like Bevin, many Americans’ coverage used to be put in jeopardy every year when they lost or changed jobs; but now, the law’s new marketplaces give people more options.
Despite unwittingly making a succinct case in favor of health reform, Bevin’s takeaway from his own insurance debacle was that we need to repeal Obamacare and instead “let states come up with solutions.” He told the crowd that he remains committed to “100 percent repeal,” even in a state where Obamacare’s popularity has resulted in a 40 percent drop in the uninsurance rate and given health coverage to more than 400,000 Kentuckians.

Rick Santorum Thinks Rand Paul Shouldn’t Run For President Because He’s Not Republican Enough
Ah, the sweet smell of a divided Republican Party. While Tea Partiers in the House are seeking to oust Speaker Boehner, Rick Santorum is tearing into GOP front runner Rand Paul.
Like me, religious wacko Rick Santorum doesn’t like Rand Paul, or the Libertarian Party. While making an appearance on CNN’s Crossfire, the former 2012 Presidential hopeful was asked what he thought of the Kentucky Senator being the Republican Party’s candidate in 2016. Santorum, who is known to often spat politically with Paul’s father, Ron Paul, had some revelations for the son:
“Well first off, I don’t think that [2016 nomination] will happen. Because the Republican Party is not a libertarian party. It is a conservative party. And it will nominate a conservative, not a libertarian.”
When asked if the front-runner of a potential 2016 run is his party’s “leader,” Santorum pulled not just the Senator of Kentucky, but his father as well:
“Well, no, he is not my leader, I can tell you that for sure. His father and I had some disagreements during the last campaign.”
After Ron Paul sent out robo-calls in Iowa declaring Santorum as Pro-Choice (do you not know Santorum?) and accusing him of being against the Second Amendment, Santorum called Paul “disgusting.”
It is no surprise seeing that Santorum is against Rand Paul. Whereas libertarianism is a blend of social liberalism (not in Paul’s case) and staunch fiscal/diplomatic conservatism, Santorum has established himself as an extreme right-winger in the Republican Party. This is a man who says that there is “no right to privacy” in the Constitution, who supports governmental regulation of private sexual acts between consenting adults, who thinks Obama has put more emphasis on porn than family life, and would make contraception illegal. Rand Paul is no better. As a libertarian, one would expect him to support the constitutionality of such issues as abortion and gay marriage. Nope, the Republican-one-day-Libertarian -next doesn’t support it, even on state grounds.
So the question everyone should be asking is this: who cares what the two think of each other, they’re both one in the same. Sure, one hints that gay marriage leads to bestiality and one opposes the War on Drugs, but both have established themselves as dangerous to the conscience, discourse, and security of national politics. One unelectable conservative wants nothing to do with the other unelectable conservative. That’s fine with me.
But I do have to hand it to Rick Santorum. Nothing is more astounding than an alleged group of individualists who make it their goal to take the wonderful democracy that is the United States and turn it into a Somalian, Sudanese, and Ugandan utopia. That should not be anyone’s leader, liberal, conservative, or anyone with a conscience.
Santorum recently made headlines with his support of raising the minimum wage.
Love it when they eat their own. hahaha
bye, bye teabaggers

Monica Lewinsky Destroys GOP Hopes of Using Bill’s Scandal Against Hillary Clinton
Monica Lewinsky is back, and she is debunking the talking points that Republicans are hoping to use against Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has been going around the country for months calling former President Clinton a sexual predator who abused his power.
I don’t think this is a path that any Republican should want to go down in 2016. The Lewinsky scandal stuff didn’t work in the late 90s, and it definitely isn’t going to work nearly 20 years later.
The strategy of using the Lewinsky scandal to tarnish Hillary Clinton is destined to backfire. Republicans would only serve to alienate and anger more women if they chose to make what happened during Bill Clinton’s second term a focus of the 2016 election.
Monica Lewinsky’s own words illustrate just how wrong it is to bring this scandal up again. Rand Paul has no idea what he is talking about, and he will definitely regret it if he chooses to go there with Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Teabaggers think this will harm Hillary....hahaahaha, they are clueless when it comes to women. Hell, it will probably get her more votes.
