MLK day just another day for the racist teabagger CONS to show their true colors:

Oregon GOP group defends gun raffle to honor Lincoln and MLK with inept slavery analogy
By Scott Kaufman
Monday, January 20, 2014 15:33 EST

An Oregon Republican group that was criticized for raffling off an AR-15 rifle to “celebrate the legacy” of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr. has issued an apology that many see as worse than the offense.

The Multnomah County Republican Party had planned on raffling off an AR-15 to “celebrate the legacy of two great Republicans who demonstrated leadership and courage that all of us still lean on today: Martin Luther King, Jr. and Abraham Lincoln.”

When it was pointed out that both figures were assassinated, and that the only Republican among them, Lincoln, led a party that was only nominally “Republican,” the group decided to issue a second statement.

In that statement, the group claimed that “in our enthusiasm for celebrating Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln and the U.S. Constitution, our Multnomah Republican Party issued a press release that was unfortunately easily misunderstood.”

You know caribou Barbie wouldn't miss her opportunity, guess that was her version of doing community service in his honor...

Sarah Palin whitesplains the meaning of MLK Day to that black guy in the White House

Word-twerking reality show spokesmodel Sarah Palin woke up this morning and discovered that it was Martin Luther King Day, which she thinks is like Christmas to black people, and, since she forgot to buy presents, she decided to give The Gift of Advice to President Barack Obama by explaining to him that the First Rule of MLK Day is that black people as a race don’t exist anymore so shut the hell up about them.

This also may be why she never calls and never writes to Glen Rice.
Posted to her Shoutyface Scream Wall, the person who types things for Sarah when her nails are still not dry, wrote:
Happy MLK, Jr. Day!

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”– Martin Luther King, Jr.
Mr. President, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and all who commit to ending any racial divide, no more playing the race card.

I am sure that Martin Luther King Jr’s words resonated deeply with Sarah Palin because she has five children (four if you ask Andrew Sullivan) making her one better than MLK (granted, she started earlier). Having said that, if I were her and they were my kids, I wouldn’t be talking about the content of their character so much and might stick with a simpler, pithier “White makes right, LOL!”.

Anyway, the ‘race card’ doesn’t belong to the blacks anymore as it has been appropriated by white people just like they stole everything else, so cut it out you black people because possession is nine-tenths of the law times the three-fifths compromise equals … carry the three …. um …. oh, yes: White makes right.
LOL.

"White Makes Right" will replace their "Don't Tread On Me" teabagger mantra for the elections. hahaha

2016 poll: Hillary Clinton ahead of Chris Christie

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie continues to face backlash from the George Washington Bridge scandal as the gap widens between him and Hillary Clinton in a potential 2016 match-up, according to a new poll.

Nevertheless, Christie still puts up the biggest challenge to Clinton compared to other possible GOP candidates for 2016. Clinton leads Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul 49 to 39 percent, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz 50 to 35 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush 49 to 38 percent.

Donald Trump hints at 2016 White House bid

Move over, New York: Donald Trump is now saying that he might consider a bid for the White House in 2016.

The real estate mogul flirted with a presidential bid in 2012 dropping out before the primaries, and over the past couple of months has met with Republican lawmakers from New York about running against Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo in this year’s gubernatorial election.

A poll released Monday by Siena College showed Cuomo trouncing Trump in a potential match-up 70 to 22 percent.

Sean Hannity Threatens To Leave New York Over Andrew Cuomo's Words Against Extremist Conservative Politicians

Sean Hannity threatens to leave New York and take his 20 million dollar salary with him because his fee-fees were hurt by Gov. Cuomo's words.

Exclusive: U.S. plans new bank fraud cases in early 2014 - attorney general

(Reuters)- The U.S. Justice Department plans to bring mortgage fraud cases against several financial institutions early in 2014, using as a template the case that ended last month in JPMorgan Chase & Co's $13 billion settlement, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said on Wednesday.

In an interview with Reuters, Holder would not say which companies or how many could face lawsuits but said the Justice Department was in contact with them and it was hard to say whether the talks would lead to settlements.

"We have a number of investigations that are coming to a head at the same time," he said. "It is my hope that the next round of these cases will be filed soon after the new year."

JPMorgan, the largest U.S. bank, agreed last month to pay $13 billion to end a series of government investigations into its marketing and sale of mortgage-backed securities.

That settlement included a $2 billion penalty to resolve civil fraud claims from the Justice Department and an acknowledgement from JPMorgan of problems in the securities it sold in the run-up to the financial crisis.

It also included $4 billion in help to consumers and did not cover an open criminal investigation into the conduct.

Holder said the government would seek similar elements in any future resolutions.

"Those four things I think comprise what we think of as a template for the resolution of these other matters as they're brought," he said.

TASK FORCE

The cases stem from a government task force the Obama administration created in early 2012 to probe the packaging and sale of shoddy home loans. At the time, the department sent subpoenas to more than a dozen financial institutions and warned of action.

Other institutions including Bank of America Corp, Citigroup Inc and Goldman Sachs Group Inc have disclosed related investigations and could face future lawsuits.

Bank of America is already contesting a lawsuit the Justice Department filed earlier this year over its mortgage securities, but expects more cases.

In October it disclosed that staff at a U.S. Attorney's office intended to recommend a civil suit against Bank of America affiliates over mortgage securities. The bank also said staff at the New York Attorney General's office, which is part of the task force, planned to recommend action against Merrill Lynch, which the bank acquired in 2008.

Citigroup in November said it continues to respond to subpoenas and other requests for information about its mortgage securities from authorities including the Justice Department's civil division.

Goldman Sachs in its latest quarterly report said future claims from the task force could result in a "significant increase" in the company's liabilities. It said it continues to receive requests for information from members of the group.

Another bank, Credit Suisse, faced one of the first lawsuits stemming from the task force, filed by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman last November.

Representatives of Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman and Credit Suisse either declined comment or did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Holder said he was meeting with the head of the task force and its leaders on a weekly basis, including on Tuesday this week.

Teabagger CONS were busy spreading their racist mentality on MLK Day:

KKK marks MLK Day by handing out fliers branding King ‘a communist pervert’

A white supremacist group marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day by passing out disparaging fliers in towns around the country.

The fliers were left on front lawns and driveways by The Loyal White Knights of The Ku Klux Klan and have been reported in east Texas, southern Kentucky, central North Carolina and central Virginia.

The fliers claimed the federal holiday celebrated “a communist pervert” and usually included a mugshot taken of King after his arrest during the 1956 Montgomery bus boycott and inflammatory information lifted from a mostly debunked chain email.

Residents who awoke to the fliers, which sometimes were placed inside baggies and weighted down with small rocks, said they were disturbed by the message and its timing.

“I’ve lived here my whole life and haven’t seen this,” said Tina Whittington, of Longview, Texas.“I was scared to death; I mean, this is pure hatred.”

The fliers often directed recipients to a website address, phone number and a North Carolina mailing address for more information about joining the group.

KLTV confirmed with KKK leader William J. Spears that the fliers had been distributed by the white supremacist group and was part of a national campaign.

One Virginia resident who found her flier after waking up Sunday morning said she found the group’s methods cowardly.
“Show your faces,” said Kathy Thomas, of Chester.“Let the neighbors know who you are.”

A Surprise Victory For Republicans
Posted on January 17, 2014

Guy Benson at Hot Air posted an article today on the special election held in Arkansas on Tuesday. The election took place in Craighead County, which has not been represented by a Republican in the state senate since reconstruction. John Cooper, the Republican candidate, won the election with 57.21 percent of the vote.

Obama is down to 31%.
