Secret pre-Iraq War talks between Blair and Bush to be published
Tony Blair and George Bush exchanged voluminous correspondence prior to the start of military operations in Iraq. Now, the UK is moving to declassify details of the talks for an inquiry into Britain’s involvement in the conflict, British media reported.
The release, set for the upcoming year, is expected to include more than 100 documents, described as a collection of notes, records of 200 minutes of ministerial level talks, telephone conversations and private meetings between the British prime minister and American president, The Independent reported.
This will give the green light for the Chilcot Iraq Inquiry to publish an account of the conflict, where much attention will be given to decisions made by then Prime Minister Tony Blair. Indeed, the files could play a major part in determining Blair’s historical legacy, which critics say has been stained by the Iraq War.
Blair has been criticized for failing to challenge then-US President George W. Bush on Iraq’s alleged weapons of mass destruction, specifically chemical and biological weapons, which a Joint Intelligence Committee report said in September 2002 “could be ready for firing in 45 minutes."

DC Police, Secret Service investigating drive-by shooting just steps from White House
11:12 AM 12/30/2013
Businesses near the White House were riddled with bullets in a two-block drive-by shooting this weekend, prompting a Secret Service investigation.
Two of those bullets entered the window and hit the walls inside Brewood Engravers & Printers at 1701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, just a block from the White House, in a shooting that occurred at approximately 2:30 AM early Saturday morning. The office building entrance, next door to the shop, also has a window boarded up.
The Caribou Coffee at the corner of 17th and Pennsylvania, right across the street from the White House — and normally, a large Secret Service presence — has a wall-length window boarded up. An employee inside Caribou confirmed that a shooting took out the store’s window.
White House staffers have reportedly held meetings at that particular Caribou Coffee to avoid having to record their interactions in White House visitor logs.
A Secret Service agent investigating the matter Monday told Mark Perlman, the manager of Brewood Engraving, that the incident appears to have been a two-block shooting. No motive is known at this time. The Secret Service does not know how many suspects may have been involved, but believes that the shooters were in a car and were not targeting any specific business.

NYTimes Investigation SHREDS Last of the Wingnut Benghazi Conspiracy Theories

The story of the 2012 Benghazi, Libya embassy attack generally breaks down into one of two rather distinct narratives. The first, official line being that it was a spontaneous act of aggression by local militants and rioters, in reaction to or fueled by the release of an American low-budget YouTube film which insulted Islam.

The second, which has been favored by congressional Republicans looking for any excuse to attack President Obama and distract from their own tenures of obstructionism and general inaction regarding numerous domestic issues, is that it was a planned, coordinated attack by the global omnipresent boogeyman Al-Qaeda and that Obama and the State Department, actively covered that information up for political purposes. However, after an extensive investigation, information released in a recent New York Times article, may have certain members of Congress looking to distance themselves from what has been routinely called a “witch hunt.”

Over the course of their investigation into the events of that day, the team at The Times, utilizing foreign correspondents and local assets, pieced together the puzzle that was the Benghazi attack, reviewing countless State Department cables and interviewing dozens of witnesses. In the account of what took place, the attacks were neither a spontaneous act of aggression, nor a planned Al-Qaeda mission, but rather a culmination of factors, resulting in a perfect storm which brought a mix of area militants and infuriated locals to attack the US compound, ultimately killing Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

Much of their investigation focused on Islamist group Ansar al-Shariah and a local militant leader named Abu Khattala, who despite his deep-rooted hatred for Mummar Gaddafi, felt little outside of the same for the US and NATO who helped rebel forces oust him. Though having no professed or verifiable connection to Al-Qaeda, the militia leader, who spent over twenty years in a Tripoli prison for militant islamic radicalism, stated openly in an interview prior to his being named a suspect in the attack, that he was no member, but admired their goals.

Never ending security threats…

At some point towards the end of 2008 or early 2009, a dramatic policy shift seems to have taken effect in the GOP, causing them to rise and declare that after thirteen separate, perfectly acceptable (if their reactions are were any indications) embassy attacks under the watch of President Bush, such would no longer be tolerated under the new, incoming Democratic President.

Flash forward then to 2012, when after a band of militants and rioters attacked and burned the US embassy in Benghazi, Libya, endless calls for investigations flew freely from the right-wing, mirrored perfectly by a plethora of conspiracy theories which declared the incident everything from a planned Al Qaeda attack, to an “inside job” carried out at the behest of President Obama.

However as commonly happens when right-wing pundits and Tea Party darlings begin spinning yarns about conspiracies for political gain, the truth inevitably catches up with them. While few expect the findings of The New York Times report to change any minds of the far right in regards to where the blame for the Benghazi attacks lay, the soundness of reporting and solid, well vetted nature to the data leads to conclusions that only a willful ignorance could look beyond.

Darrell Issa Hid The Truth About Benghazi For a Year While Attacking President Obama

It is an unfortunate human trait to look for some kind of moral wrong or legal malfeasance in specific events to incite general public outrage either to benefit someone or to cast aspersion on someone else. Shortly after Republicans won a House majority in the 2010 midterm elections a corrupt Republican, Darrell Issa, promised his only job as chairman of the House Oversight Committee was to have “seven hearings a week, times 40 weeks” investigating the Obama Administration when the 112th Congress began. Issa was desperate to find a scandal to take down President Obama and has investigated everything from the 2009 federal stimulus program to fabricating President Obama’s part in the scandalous Republican government shutdown two months ago.

Issa has wasted taxpayer time and money for three years looking for Obama Administration scandals he subsequently never found, including the tragic deaths of 4 American diplomats in Benghazi Libya on September 11 2012. Issa’s scandalous investigations aside, it was revealed yesterday that an extensive investigation into the attack on the diplomatic outpost that claimed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three diplomats’ lives found no involvement of al-Qaeda or other international terrorists groups whatsoever like Republicans have claimed for over a year. Instead, the attack was precipitated by, as first reported, extremist Christians in the United States.

A lengthy and comprehensive New York Times investigation informed what Republicans are desperate to keep under wraps because it revealed the Benghazi attack was “accelerated in part by anger at a U.S.-made video denigrating Islam.” The report parroted what any American with half-a-mind has known since Republicans began their relentless propaganda campaign that the Obama administration attempted to cover up al-Qaeda’s alleged role in the attack. According to the chairman of the House Intelligent Committee, Republican Mike Rogers, who kept the al-Qaeda meme alive last month on Fox News,“It was very clear to the individuals on the ground that this was an al-Qaeda-led event.”

However, according to the Times,“The only intelligence connecting Al Qaeda to the attack was an intercepted phone call that night from a participant in the first wave of the attack to a friend in another African country who had ties to members of Al Qaeda. But when the friend heard the attacker’s boasts, he sounded astonished and had no prior knowledge of the assault.” The report said militants surveyed the U.S. compound at least 12 hours before the assault started, but “the violence also had spontaneous elements fueled in large part by anger at the (anti-Islam) video that motivated the initial attack.” It is important to note that the video, titled “Innocence of Muslims,” was made by an American and “had also prompted protests for hours the day before at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.”

Issa is an idiot wasting taxpayers dollars for teabagger CON fantasy scandals. Voters won't forget. Count on it.

With the extent the teabagger CONS have gone to insult and demean women is it any wonder they rally around duck phil. I guess these perverted freaks wouldn't mind turning their young daughters over a grown man eh? Birds of a feather.

Dynasty’s Phil Robertson: Marry Girls When They’re About 15 Or 16 (VIDEO)

It seems like Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson has a full repertoire of offensive comments. They are all showing up in videos. First we were made aware of his homophobic rant and racist condescension to blacks.

This new video is simply unbelievable. Does this guy forget that this is a world where everything is recorded? In the video above Phil Robertson says the following in a rather disturbing monologue.
“Now that’s a woman. They got to where they’re hard to find. Mainly because these boys are waiting til they’re twenty years old before they marry them. Look, you wait til they get to be twenty years old and the the only picking that’s going to take place is your pocket. You got to marry these girls when they’re about fifteen or sixteen and they’ll pick your ducks.”

Is Phil Robertson the type of man we want on our TV screens?
Phil Robertson is under scrutiny. These videos are not new. However it is evident the search is on to find out a little more about this man’s previous articulations.

Did A & E.ever do a search on this man? Should A & E have done a search on this man? Should the opinions articulated by Phil Robertson disqualify him from a series like Duck Dynasty?

Most would likely agree before the fact that these disturbing video releases would have been a show stopper. Networks do not want to bring on baggage.

The ratings for Duck Dynasty are down substantially since the scandal, according to AdWeek.

According to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, in the days after the Duck Dynasty patriarch was benched for his anti-gay remarks to GQ writer Drew Magary, A&E experienced a significant downturn in its deliveries. In the week of Dec. 16-22, A&E averaged 1.51 million viewers in prime time, down 13 percent from 1.73 million in the year-ago period.

The target demos took a bigger hit, as adults 25-54 dropped 22 percent to 678,000, while members of the 18-49 set fell 18 percent to 646,000.

One wonders why the network felt compelled to reinstate Phil Robertson so quickly. One hunch is that it assumes it has already lost the tolerant, open-minded demographic it is going to lose. Maybe reinstating Phil Robertson will ensure the demographic most aligned him is maintained. Will even his core demographic start leaving as a result of the above revelation?

I just had to post this one more time! ROTFL, LOLOLOL, comments from a Saudi Govt. official,

The Saudi official is referring to Obama’s “red line” vow of military action if the Syrian dictator Bashir Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. Assad did and Obama didn’t. Saudi officials were stunned.

Next came the revelation earlier this year that Obama was secretly negotiating with Iran, the mortal enemy of both Israel and Saudi Arabia. Officials in both nations have told me that they simply don't believe that the president can sweet-talk the mullahs out of the weapons they have coveted for years.

“The bond of trust between America and Saudi Arabia has been broken in the Obama years," al-Ibrahim said. "We feel we have
been stabbed in the back by Obama."

"Every time that Obama had to choose between his enemies and his friends, he always chose his enemies," he said. "We don't know what he's putting in his tea."
