Warren raising funds against McConnell

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Ma.) is raising money to oust Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and balance the Senate’s gender disparity.

Warren, a star among the party’s liberal base, called on supporters to give money to Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes in an e-mail shared among potential supporters Saturday. The e-mail was also circulated earlier in the week.

“Right now, the polls in Kentucky are tied — and you can bet that Mitch McConnell and his powerful friends will spend whatever it takes to beat Alison and win control of the Senate,” Warren wrote.

Warren’s assistance in Kentucky helps make up for the absence of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who signaled Friday who would not raise money for McConnell’s opponent.
"I don't think she needs much of my help. She seems to be doing pretty well,” he told Bloomberg Television.

Relations between Reid and McConnell have been at a low point since November when the Democratic leader used a controversial tactic known as the nuclear option to strip Republicans of the power to filibuster nominees.

The left-leaning website Daily Kos reported on Warren’s fundraising e-mail earlier in the week.

Warren is also raising funds for Michelle Nunn, the daughter of former Sen. Sam Nunn (D-Ga.), who is running for Senate in Georgia, and West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant, a Senate candidate in that state.

“The Republicans running against Michelle are all fighting with one another to decide which will be the most ultra-right wing extremist in the Senate,” Warren wrote.“We already have plenty of Senators carrying the flag for the Tea Party, we don't need another one.”

Hopes of winning at least one of the two Republican-held seats in Kentucky and Georgia figure significantly in the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s strategy for keeping control of the upper chamber.

Warren’s fundraising team helped Lundergan Grimes outraise McConnell between July and September, an impressive feat Republicans attributed to Warren’s fundraising team.

She is just one of many women in power that will rally around Alison to up seat the Kentucky Obstructionist. Women will crawl out of the woodwork to get him and every teabagging CON voting against women while disrespecting them with outrageous "rape" etc remarks. Count on it.

With 53% of the votes in 2012, women are currently the largest voting group. In 2014/2016 the women will hit back.

Mitch McCONnell voted against the
Violence Against Women Act

Equal Pay For Women (passed anyway)

...among other issues that affect women and their families. We won't forget .

Bipartisan Budget Bill First In 15 Years, And Tea Party Radicals Are Outraged!

The Paul Ryan-Patty Murray bipartisan budget deal, while far from perfect, is the first cooperation on formulation of the budget in the past 15 years.

Liberal Democrats are furious that unemployment compensation has not been extended, and that food stamps seem to be about to have a major budget cut, totally unacceptable on moral grounds.

But the deal also prevents a government shutdown and constant budget crises every few months, a reality which infuriates the Tea Party radicals.

So there is a live rebellion in both parties, but the greater one is between House leaders, including Speaker John Boehner and Budget Chairman Paul Ryan, against large elements of their own party, and strong opposition from Tea Party Senators, including Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio, along with Tom Coburn, and reportedly, Mitch McConnell, the Senate Republican leader, who is facing a Tea Party primary for his seat in Kentucky next year.

No one can be happy that those most needy are going to be ignored by the Scrooges of the Republican Party, but to see Boehner and Ryan being attacked by fellow Republicans, and the Presidential race playing into it, is an amazing event to watch.

Paul Ryan, IF he wishes to be President, will be attacked by Paul, Cruz, Rubio and others for his willingness to make a bipartisan deal, far from ideal, but just the fact of BIPARTISANSHIP drives the right wing and its advocacy groups and its talk show hosts bonkers!

Ronald Reagan Myth Of “Welfare Queen” Being Revived By Republicans And Conservatives: Still A Massive Lie!

Before he became President, Ronald Reagan kept perpetuating a massive lie, far more than Barack Obama and ObamaCare, despite claims that Obama is the most massive liar of any President!
NO, it is a tie between Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, with Reagan simply more charming and charismatic, so Nixon tends to be regarded as the greater liar because of Watergate!

But Reagan lied about Iran-Contra in 1986, claiming he had “no recollection”, and able to get away with it due to his charm, and the thought that, as an aging President, he would be given a pass, although some thought he should be impeached for that scandal, as well as others, making his administration one of the most scandal ridden Presidencies, right behind Nixon, Warren G. Harding, and Ulysses S. Grant.

But even before the scandals of his Presidency, Reagan developed in his mind, and came to believe, that there was a “Welfare Queen”, of course an African American in Chicago, who was collecting dozens of checks monthly, and scamming the “welfare” system.

This was a lie from day one, but it resonated, and was used by conservatives to condemn the poor, implying that they were all too lazy to work, and were just drinking and taking drugs and living off hard working whites.

The fact that most people on “welfare”, meaning food stamps and Medicaid and unemployment compensation are white, are single mothers with children, and many work, but make inadequate income working for minimum wage (such as at Walmart and McDonalds and such places like them), is ignored, and it has become an attack on the poor, as if they wish to be poor, and also provoke working class whites against minorities.

Meanwhile, as the move is on to cut food stamps and unemployment compensation, and in red states deny expansion of Medicaid, and also deny an increase in the minimum wage, the vast majority who are being harmed are white working class people who continue to vote Republican, not understanding that it is them who are being condemned by the term “Welfare Queen”.

The term “Welfare Queen” is a massive lie, and was a massive lie when Ronald Reagan used it to attain the Presidency! Reagan either knew it was a lie, or was too incompetent mentally to know that he was telling a lie that he had convinced himself was the truth. And this is a President to admire and emulate, as a great President, when he set out to harm those who were down and out for his own advancement? Give me a break!

No wonder Reagan is there hero. Typical CON mentality.

Reagan’s Labor Secretary Admitted ‘Trickle-Down’ Failed, Led to Inequality (Video)

After the release of the monthly jobs numbers last Friday, PBS’s Newshour spoke with economist Barry Bluestone about the success of “The Gipper’s” trickle-down economics regarding socioeconomic inequality.

He explains why, for the 4 million long-term unemployed, things are not looking any rosier. Inequality for those at the bottom persists, and as he explains, it is linked to high unemployment.

Destroying the basic tenets of top-down trickle-down Reaganomics, he said,“The wealthiest people spend maybe 30% of their income. Poor people spend 100%, working people spend 98%, so as we move money away from working families towards very wealthy families, we take more and more consumption out of the economy, means slower and slower growth, means higher and higher an extended unemployment.”

The interview gets even better, as Bluestone struggles to explain why the Republican establishment has refused to abandoned trickle-down economics even in the face of growing social economic inequality.

Please watch the video below and share this and other related articles on social media forums so that everyone will know that trickle-down Reaganomics leads to growing wealth inequality.

baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Estimates are that only 5% to 10% of healthcare plans will need to change in order to comply with the new ObamaCare standards such as if a policy holder gets sick they can no longer be canceled. Some policies such as Golden Rule Health must now comply that 80% of all premiums collected must go toward paying claims. Currently 50% of all premiums paid to Golden Rule goes to pay the CEO and staff.
By the way, no one that post on this forum is losing their healthcare plan. Most that post on here are already on that socialist government ran plan named Medicare. Repubs hate social programs until they're on one.

George HW Bush called it voodoo economics and he was right!

George H. W. Bush,“Voodoo Economics”, And Republican Economics In 2010!

The Republican Party is famous, or rather infamous, for creating a vast majority of the national debt, and yet they keep on acting as if the Democratic Party are the villains in this regard!

George H. W. Bush, competing for the GOP Presidential nomination in 1980, attacked candidate Ronald Reagan’s claim that tax cuts would NOT cause an increase in the national debt! Bush called it “voodoo economics”! Of course, that is exactly what happened under Reagan, with a tripling of the national debt from one to three trillion dollars!
The first President Bush was more cautious on tax cuts, and actually increased taxes and was bitterly criticized by conservatives, which helped to cause his defeat in 1992!

His son, George W. Bush, managed to almost double the national debt from 5 to 10 trillion dollars, meaning just Reagan and the second Bush created nearly a 7 trillion dollar increase in the debt, much of it because of Reaganomics and Bushonomics, meaning tax cuts for the wealthy who had no need for it, as many themselves would admit!

http://www.theprogressiveprofessor.com/...

I think Bush Sr, had it right...voodoo economics...PRICELESS.
