Thankfully, Hypocritical Republican Governors are Embracing Obamacare

n the latest display of hypocrisy from the right, a surprising variety of Republican governors have recently sought out federal funds under Obamacare, many of them to expand Medicaid eligibility for more residents, a centerpiece of the law that the Supreme Court made optional for states last year.

A great deal of Republican Governors have made it the focal point of their tenure to bash the Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act and make sure to stand in solidarity with House Republicans, who have now tried to repeal the law unsuccessfully a record 40 times. So it’s not without a sense of irony, that they seem to be finding creative ways to take these optional funds created by accepting the Act.

While still doing everything in their power to seem like they are not.

These range from disclaimers about helplessness to comply before accepting funds, to calling Obamacare something different while accepting funds, to presenting the measure as their own personal idea before… you guessed it, accepting Obamacare funds.

Prefacing his acceptance of optional Obamacare benefits for the state, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie stated,“Let me be clear, I am no fan of the Affordable Care Act. I think it is wrong for New Jersey and wrong for America. I fought against it and believe, in the long run, it will not achieve what it promises. However it is now the law of the land. I will make all my judgements as governor based on what is best for New Jerseyans”
Since it prefaced his acceptance of the measure, one can only logically assume that what is “best for New Jerseyans” seems to coincide with accepting the Affordable Care Act, because well, otherwise… why accept something you disagree with so much?

Rick Perry, another staunch Obamacare detractor who was extremely vocal during his campaign trail for the Presidential nomination, is also accepting Obamacare funds. A Rick Perry spokewoman was quoted as saying “The bottom line is it has nothing to do with Obamacare” in reference to accepting a provision dealing with the Community First Choice program.

Except it has everything to do with Obamacare because, as the Department of Health Services explained last February, the new Community First Choice program was explicitly set up under the Affordable Care Act.

This certainly seems duplicitous, but pales in comparison to Governor Jan Brewer’s approach.

After catching hell from fellow Republicans following her decision to accept Obamacare proposals in her state, Governor Jan Brewer went a step further, and decided to appropriate Obamacare, by renaming it her Medicaid Restoration Plan, hoping to distract from her support. She said,“While I remain opposed to the Affordable Care Act, it’s become increasingly clear to me that the status quo is not an option. With my Medicaid Restoration Plan, we can continue providing cost-effective care to these individuals – America’s working poor.”
This is the height of hypocrisy.

Glad our Democratic Governor has the jump on all the rest. Watch the results long before elections and the lies will be evident to all. hahaha

Hypocrites is right.

Unbelievable anyone watch this garbage. Losing more women votes. The DEMS thank them in advance. lol

FOXNews “Expert” Defends Higher Healthcare Costs For Women: They “Have The Breasts”(VIDEO)

Fox News raised their bar for sex discrimination by bringing in a “medical expert” on Tuesday made the case that President Barack Obama’s administration was wrong to force end gender -based cost discrimination in health insurance rates because men “only have the prostate,” while women “have the breasts, they have the ovaries.”
“Look, it’s not bias, I’m not saying this as a man,” Fox News’“Medical A-Team” contributor Dr. David Samadi told the hosts of Fox & Friends.“They go through a lot of preventive screenings, they give birth, they have the whole mammogram, the Pap smear. Guys, we don’t like to go to doctors, right? Seventy percent of health care decisions are made by women. In my own practice, I see it’s the women who bring the guys, who say, go get screened.”

“Yeah, but shouldn’t that earn us a discount?” Fox News host Gretchen Carlson chimed in.“Basic fact that we are responsible for getting our men to come to the doctor? And what about the fact that women, because they do all this preventative care, maybe their health issues end up costing less than men’s, who don’t go to the doctor until it’s a crisis and a big deal.”

“Yes, that’s a good point, except that, you know, women live longer,” Samadi asserted.“Women live until age 81 and men live only until 76. So, we’re using the health care system much less.”

“In this case, it’s not equal,” co-host Brian Kilmeade said in agreement.“You have a better time on Earth than we do, you’re here a lot more. You have six years of heaven, where you just have no men around.”

Carlson pointed out that women were blamed for maternity costs,“but men and women have babies together.”

“I agree with you that it’s a shared responsibility,” Samadi said.“But just the way the system are — in my field, we only have the prostate. Women have the breasts, they have the ovaries, they have the uterus. They get checked in every part.”

“1-800-GOD, can we change the organs of a woman so that she doesn’t cost so much?” Carlson joked.

They ended the segment in a fit of laughter, leaving many to wonder exactly what they found to be so funny about gender-based healthcare cost discrimination.

Watch the video from Fox News’ Fox & Friends and share this and other related articles on social media forums so that we can expose and eradicate FOX bigotry.

haha, I thought the same thing. Have you seen some of these fat ass kids. Never exercise, eat junk all day, play video games and can't handle the idea the school wants them to eat healthy so they live longer and stay healthy. What a thing to applaud.

Other gripes involved the new bread, which students don’t want to eat because it’s brown wheat bread, and the new milk, which is skim or one percent fat, not two percent or whole. The cafeteria’s chocolate- and strawberry-flavored milk offerings are now nonfat.

Occupy the Food System

... the Obama administration delivered a crushing blow to a crucial rule proposed by the USDA (known as the GIPSA rule), which was meant to level the playing field for independent cattle ranchers. The large meatpackers, who would have lost some of their power, lobbied hard and won to leave the beef market as it is -- ruled by corporate giants. In the same month, new school lunch rules proposed by the USDA that would have brought more fresh food to school cafeterias were weakened by Congress. Food processors -- the corporations that turn potatoes into French fries and chicken into nuggets -- spent $5.6 million to lobby against the new rules and won, with Congress going so far as agreeing to call pizza a vegetable. Both decisions demonstrate that corporate power wins and the health of our markets and our children loses.

Teens face ethnic intimidation charges after brutally beating woman in North Side

PITTSBURGH

...

Officers said the woman was kicked, punched, robbed and left in the middle of the street. Police said they also called the victim a racial slur.

"I do feel like it was very racially motivated and I grew up in the neighborhood," said Slepski.

Witnesses ran to help the woman and one man said he watched as the three young black girls, ages 14, 15 and 16, were arrested.

An 'oldie' BUT 'goodie'
FROM another poster:

Pew: Liberals most intolerant online

It’s a well-known fact that liberals are more tolerant than conservatives or moderates. Superior liberal tolerance is such a fact that they will scream at you if you dare to disagree or debate them, demand that your advertisers bail on you, and pressure the FCC to get you banned from the airwaves. Does that sound like tolerance to you? A new survey from Pew confirms that liberals are the least tolerant of differing opinions, at least on line (emphasis mine):

IMPEACHABLE? OBAMA RELEASED THOUSANDS OF CRIMINAL ILLEGALS
Number larger than publicly known, responsible for crime waves

A book released Tuesday making the case for the impeachment of Barack Obama documents the number of criminal illegal aliens released by the Obama administration is actually thousands more than what is publicly known, generating crime waves and creating a clear and present danger to the public.

Earlier this year, it was widely reported U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, a section of the Department of Homeland Security, freed from prison 622 criminal immigrants, including 32 with multiple felony convictions.

The Obama administration initially blamed the controversial move on the budget sequester cuts.

However, the releases are just the tip of the iceberg, documents the new book,“Impeachable Offenses: The Case to Remove Barack Obama from Office.”

Once again you've cherry-picked headlines (3 year old headlines, no less) and neglected to do a little research of your own. I remembered this tempest in a teapot, but I went back and checked just to make sure.

GIPSA wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Along with that "level playing field", small farmers would have been inundated with paperwork to stay within the requirements. They would also have had to report private deals with buyers/sellers, which would then have been posted on a website, constituting a loss of privacy that you Republicans are always hollering about.

No offense to Huffington, but they probably wouldn't know one end of a cow from the other, and you obviously don't recognize the scent of sensationalism. Perhaps it was masked by all that BS you post.
