So am I, but one parting thought:

For some reason my last post to you pooped out. My question was, wonder why nobody commented when I posted the article on Cruz turning in his birth certificate in a potential run for the presidency/

Cruz who was born in Canada to an American mother and Cuban father is an American citizen who says he will renounce his dual citizenship from Canada. Ok....now. Is he eligible to be president? Not according to the S. Court who says you have to be a child of two American parents.

Really? Since when.

Does that ring any bells with you?

By the way.... His dad became naturalized....he didn't run back to Cuba like the Kenyan.

Utah Welfare Drug Testing Results Find Only 12 Drug Users at Cost of Over $30,000

At what point will Republicans realize that in cases like these, the end does not justify the means? Wasting $30,000 on only twelve people sounds a lot like another Republican farce, and another way for them to wage the war on the poorest in America.

Florida was considered the pioneer to this law, and many other states followed suit. Some states that currently have a similar law are: Missouri, West Virginia, Kansas, Kentucky, and Texas. There are also plenty of other states that are considering the legislation or are pending. Some states have in their legislation that random testing may be administered and ability of receiving welfare is based upon the person’s ability to pass or fail the test. The states enacting random testing are, however, facing fire from the American Civil Liberties Union who say that it is a violation of the 4th Amendment’s “unlawful search and seizure” clause.

he Republican ‘defund Obamacare’ disorder shows their denial of political reality

The Republican party is not in a good place right now. They are historically unpopular (particularly House Republicans); they have no discernible governing agenda; they are under assault from their own supporters; they continue to say stupid things that upset key voting groups … and – guess what?– things are about to get even worse.
Case in point: the ongoing GOP obsession with Obamacare.

It’s now been three and half years since the legislation was signed into law; more than a year since it was upheld by the US supreme court, and nearly 10 months since Mitt Romney, running on a pledge to repeal it, was defeated in the 2012 presidential election. Yet, rather than accept the reality of Obamacare, the GOP’s effort to ensure that millions of Americans are prevented from receiving healthcare coverage and remain forever mired in financial and personal anxiety because of their lack of insurance continues unabated.

Now, granted, if the GOP wants to knock themselves out (literally), who are we, as non-crazy and rational people, to stop them? Knock yourself out, GOP!

The incandescent rage from Tea Partiers at yet another bout of failed brinkmanship will not be directed at Obama; it will be directed at their own leaders.

It’s already happening. This week, Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander joined Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell in finding himself under assault from a Tea Party primary challenge. Alexander is hardly a moderate (he even penned an op-ed this week defending his conservative bonafides), but in the increasingly radicalized GOP, he’s considered something of a Rino (Republican In Name Only). His crime: an apparent willingness to seek “compromise” with Democrats.

At the same time, conservative groups are now funding ad campaigns against Republicans in both the House and Senate for refusing to embrace the Tea Party’s suicidal defund Obamacare strategy.

For Republicans who are in safe seats or in red states the biggest threat they face today is not from Democrats, but from their own supporters – and even more directly, from potential primary challenges. Considering how many “establishment Republicans” have lost Senate and House primaries to outside-the-mainstream Tea Party candidates in the past two election cycles, this is no idle threat.

So, while this intra-party challenge reduces the desire of Republicans compromise, it also makes them that much more vulnerable politically when they are forced to do so. It’s not difficult to imagine that when the smoke clears from this fall’s budget showdown and debt limit hostage-taking that Republicans will find themselves mired in full-scale civil war with Tea Party radicals who are even further emboldened to push their no-compromise agenda on the party.

Keep in mind, that’s the best possible outcome for Republicans. The worst one is that they blow up the US economy.

Right-Wing Claims Facebook Unjustly Targeting Them; Plans Boycott

Oh no. This is horrible news. Conservatives are boycotting Facebook this Sunday. What ever will we liberals do with no trolls to block, no crazy people to laugh at, no hate-spewing, foul-mouthed Facebook stalkers to report, no uninformed morons to explain to us the “facts” they discovered by visiting web-sites like Breitbart, Infowars, and the lunaticfringe.com ? What will we do without the meme misinformation campaign, the racist photos, the threats of armed rebellion – not to mention the dire warnings about the evil “homosexual agenda?”

Conservatives have decided to boycott, claiming that they have been “unfairly targeted” by Facebook. They say that their accounts have been blocked and they have been subject to censorship for “simply expressing their beliefs.” hmmm
Maybe the problem is that their beliefs are at odds with Facebook policies, as well as the laws of pretty much every civilized society in the world. For instance, the belief that killing people is a good way to solve your problems. That belief does indeed conflict with Facebook policies, and with many US laws as well. Who knew?
Here are some fun examples of conservatives who were “unfairly” targeted by Facebook for simply expressing their beliefs:

The group that declared open hunting season on democrats, the guy that posted a hitlist of liberal politicians calling for them to be executed, the many right-wingers who have been arrested and sent to prison for threatening the life of the President, or the gun-nuts who threaten people every single day, on Facebook and elsewhere. I highly doubt this policy is being applied arbitrarily toward conservatives, I just think conservatives happen to violate this policy far more often than the general public.

Facebook also has a policy against bullying and harassment. Conservatives, on the other hand, seem to believe that bullying and harassment are policies to live by. If they can’t win a debate (which is always) they simply swear at you, call you names, spam your account, troll your page and find other ways to annoy you until you get angry enough to report them to Facebook. Somehow when they get banned for it, it’s Facebook’s fault. If Facebook enforced this policy as often as it should, the site would have to ban almost every right-wing pundit by now, including Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Donald Trump, Bill O’Reilly, Glen Beck and all the rest of the GOP bullies and hate-mongers, who engage in this type of behavior on a daily basis.

Fox News pundit, Todd Starnes, was banned from Facebook for such behavior in July, 2013. Too bad he was allowed back after only 12 hours.

Hate Speech is against Facebook policy, of course as far as conservatives policies the only thing that technically qualifies as hate speech is if you say anything bad about Christians. Go ahead and say that the poor are animals, use racist language to describe the President of the United States, spew hate toward homosexuals, women, liberals, Muslims, immigrants, atheists, whatever, whoever…

While the idea that conservatives are being “unjustly” targeted by Facebook is just laughable, the thought of them boycotting Facebook for the day is not at all unpleasant. Come to think of it, shouldn’t conservatives being giving it a rest every Sunday, per the Biblical Ten Commandments that they want to install in every public school and courthouse in the country? Or is that Saturday? Maybe they should make it both just to be sure. How about Monday – Friday? So many days to choose from…
And what ever happened to that “Tea Party Community” Facebook alternative they were hyping up a few months ago anyways?

HAHAHA, STOMP those icons loser clowns...

Master of Puppets — Rush Limbaugh Pulling the GOP’s Strings

In a recent interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, the President discussed the situation with much of Congress’s,“do-nothing” attitude. As things stand currently, the 113th is the most ineffective in the nation’s entire history, often performing tasks as productive and exciting as the average sea sponge, their greatest daily achievement generally being the conversion of oxygen to carbon dioxide. For any Republicans reading this, that means breathing.

When asked how he felt regarding the state of affairs on Capitol Hill, the President expressed frustration, and commented that ultimately,“the buck stops with me.” Furthering his irritation at lawmakers’ stagnancy, is that Congress doesn’t actually -have-to do much of anything, besides:

A.) Pass a budget.(Which they haven’t done.)
And,

B.) Pay the already accumulated bills.(Also yet to happen.)

Instead, one half of Congress,(We all know which half.) has actively tried to do only one thing- obstruct and oppose in any way possible. This type of conduct is not good for the poor, it isn’t good for the middle class. It isn’t good for farmers, cashiers, car salesmen, teachers, or factory workers. It isn’t good for Americans, and it isn’t good for America. So why this last-ditch effort to try to run down the clock and oppose -anything-, even to the point of threatening to functionally halt the federal government? Politics. Yes, it would seem that politics is making it impossible to conduct politics- the irony would be laughable if the projected results weren’t so dishearteningly grim… not much is humorous with the prospect of another Depression looming.

So who is to blame in this case? Who evokes so great a fear as to make Republican legislators tremble in their Italian leather loafers? The boogie monster, Bigfoot, or the swamp thing? No dear friends, something far scarier- Rush Limbaugh. The loudmouthed conservative radio titan has long had a say in the political arena, but in light of how out of touch with reality a large section of the voting population has become, to these individuals, his every word is to be held in high esteem- high enough in fact, that while some GOP lawmakers may express agreeance with the President in private counsel, they will continue to publicly oppose their own views out of fear that something negative may slip out of Rush’s fat, slavering gob on the radio, ruining their chances of reelection.

It would seem that it’s time to push for less sensationalism in the news, less Cold-War era yellow journalism, and perhaps a bit more activity in Congress on behalf of the American people, with education, recovery, equal rights, ending poverty, and the middle class on the agenda. While Greek and Latin may point to the logical opposite of progress being Congress, it doesn’t have to be that way. Contact your representatives by phone, mail, or even carrier pigeon and ask them to do -something-, since last time this writer checked, nobody elected Rush Limbaugh.

A Message To The GOP – From The Majority Of American Women…

Lesley Gore’s, You Don’t Own Me, spoke to millions of women during the 1960′s. Hard to believe we are still having to get that point across today. To the GOP Republicans; you don’t own us, you don’t own our bodies, and we, the majority, will remember all of you come election day – each and every one of you that tried to take away our freedom of reproductive choice.

Here is Video #1 of You Don’t Own Me. It’s a delicious PSA made in 2012 to keep Romney out of office. Yeah, we helped do that.

Video #2 below is a very cool 1964 performance of by Lesley Gore when she originally recorded her song:

And below I have listed some of the worst anti-choice lawmakers in the country. The list will be updated as the 2014 midterm elections grow near. And as that day grows closer, these same lawmakers may try to waffle or lighten up on their abortion stances, in efforts to regain our trust and our votes. We won’t be buying it. In states like North Carolina,Texas, Florida, Wisconsin and North Dakota, they have fully demonstrated their agenda and need for the GOP spotlight during this go-round. Sadly, there truly is a war against women – one that we will win, by staying informed, remembering names, and putting more pro-choice women and men in office. If you have ever thought about running for office, do it now. We need to replace these lawmakers:

Rand Paul (R-KY), Paul Ryan (R-WI), Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Jason Rapert (R-AK), Shadrack McGill (R-AL) Trent Franks (R-AZ) Gov. John Kasich (R-OH), Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), Gov. Pat McCrory (R-NC),Gov. Sam Brownback (R-KS), and Gov. Rick Snyder (R-MI). There are more and we will be updating.

Sadly, there are female lawmakers working against women’s rights. Remember them as well: Gov. Jan Brewer (R-AZ), Gov. Mary Fallin (R-OK), Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann (R-IN), Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch (R-WI), Kimberly Yee,(R-AZ) Bette Grande (R-ND), and Jody Laubengerg (R-TX).

Note: Rand Paul calls himself a ‘Libertarian.’ The Libertarian philosophy is for people to have maximum individual rights, with minimum role from the government. Guess Paul doesn’t think those individual rights should apply to women. He is the worst kind of hypocrite.

Honorable Mention: Rush Limbaugh (R-Bozoland) who thinks he’s a politician, but his sexism, racism and lgbt bigotry is helping him dwindle into radio obscurity.(To join the Rush Limbaugh/Hate Radio boycott, visit this page.)

On the bright side, here are 10 women’s rights Facebook groups/organizations, big and small, that are working to protect women’s reproductive rights. They are in no specific order:
On Million Pissed Off Women
Planned Parenthood
UniteWomen.org
Fight Laws Against Women
Chicks On The Left
We Are Fuse
Lady Liberals
NOW
NARAL

South Carolina Restaurant Denies Service To African-Americans On Orders Of ‘Threatened’ White Customer

Are Southern conservatives taking aim at the Civil Rights Act now? It sure looks that way after a restaurant in South Carolina refused to serve a group of African-Americans who waited for two hours to get a table when a white customer demanded they be turned away.

The Wild Wings Café in Charleston, South Carolina is under fire after flat out refusing to serve a large group of black family members and friends who were in town to say goodbye to a cousin in July. A white customer demanded the restaurant to do so because she felt “threatened.”

Hopefully, this is just a freak incident of stupidity that won’t happen again in the future, but if Southern conservatives ever wanted to challenge the Civil Rights Act, they have an opening. All they have to do is continue to defy the Civil Rights Act by refusing to do business with African-Americans until someone sues them.

Then they can attempt to dismiss the suit by
claiming that the Act is unconstitutional. It’s how Republicans managed to successfully gut the Voting Rights Act. They kept challenging the Justice Department rejection of voter suppression laws in court until the conservative-leaning Supreme Court did racists a favor and struck down a longstanding section of the Voting Right Act. It’s also how conservatives have been chipping away at affirmative action. It’s hypothetical, of course, but worth watching for.

For years, Southern conservatives have been dreaming of dismantling the Civil Rights Era legislation that put an end to Jim Crow. This latest apparent act of racism occurred in South Carolina, the state that has been ground zero for segregation and racist laws since the Civil War. A Confederate flag still flies on the grounds outside the state house. It’s definitely not a stretch to think that conservatives could get a section of the Civil Rights Act struck down, and now that they have control of the Supreme Court, you have to wonder if the landmark legislation is going to be targeted at some point in the future.
