.
This is what happens to the firemen without Federal funding- In a state strapped with a large budget shortfall, Texas Gov. Rick Perry signed off on a budget that cut the volunteer fire department grant program from $23 million to $7 million for the fiscal year beginning Sept. 1. But as the fires raged on, Perry insisted that the Obama administration declare Texas a disaster area so the Lone Star State could receive federal emergency funds.

The Texas governor raised eyebrows when he said, "When we came into the nation in 1845, we were a republic, we were a stand-alone nation," adding, "And one of the deals was, we can leave anytime we want. So we’re kind of thinking about that again."

(Texas Gov. Rick Perry does not stand behind a secession petition filed with the White House by a Lone Star State resident in the aftermath of the presidential election.)

From our humble abodes

"The poorest man may in his cottage,
bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown.
It may be frail, its roof may shake;
the wind may blow through it;
the storm may enter; the rain may enter;
but the King of England/*obama may not enter;
all his force dares not cross the threshold
of the ruined tenement."

I wonder if Perry or any other of you Repubs have ever thought about this? Medicare DOES NOT pay for those living outside the US. SO if Texas was to leave the US then NO ONE there would be covered under Medicare. Dumbasses.

There is no man can say who is dead in God's eyes! The Bible is written by men! Somehow the words of Jesus got past? Wonder why? He did not preach the Gospel of the tithes and the bake sale! Nor did he preach the "i'll fly away" abomination preached today!(it only started in the 1940's) is that biblical? Be very carful whom you serve!

Geneva Bible written in 1560
This version of the Holy Bible is significant because, for the very first time, a mechanically printed, mass-produced Bible was made available directly to the general public which came with a variety of scriptural study guides and aids (collectively called an apparatus), which included verse citations which allow the reader to cross-reference one verse with numerous relevant verses in the rest of the Bible, introductions to each book of the Bible which acted to summarize all of the material that each book would cover, maps, tables, woodcut illustrations, indexes, as well as other included features — all of which would eventually lead to the reputation of the Geneva Bible as history's very first study Bible

Because the language of the Geneva Bible was more forceful and vigorous, most readers preferred this version strongly over the Great Bible. In the words of Cleland Boyd McAfee, "it drove the Great Bible( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Bible ) off the field by sheer power of excellence".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva_Bible

Back then excellence meant something. Nowadays everyone gets a medal.
