Why do you continue to use the words left and right when Obama/Clinton are not liberals and Reagan/Bush's are not conservative?

The Lamestream Media is corporate left and Fox News is corporate right.

That is why Wall Street always wins no matter who wins in Washington DC.

As American media is controlled by that corporate America which provides us with political candidates a well-informed electorate is not possible.$$$$$$$

American corrupt corporate media filter 101:
Clear Channel is hardwired into the Bush political machine. The company co-chair is Tom Hicks, who purchased the Texas Rangers baseball team in 1998 from Bush Jr. That deal made Bush Junior a multi-millionaire. Michael Powell is a neo-confederate of the worst kind. He tried to hijack the FCC to deregulate and give away the public airwaves to his corporate cronies. Expecting Fox News to report real news is about as silly as waiting for Dick Cheney and George Bush to tell the truth. Clinton / Gore Telecommunications Act of 1996 sponsored giveaway of our public airwaves removed long-standing restrictions. Rupert Murdoch owns Fox. General Electric owns NBC, MSNBC, CNBC. Time Warner AOL owns CNN. Disney owns ABC. Viacom owns CBS. All Corporate Media doing $Billions with the Pentagon for over 60 years.

Silvio Berlusconi was the prime minister of Italy and owns state television networks, radio stations, three of Italy’s four commercial television networks, two big publishing houses, two national newspapers, fifty magazines, Italy’s largest movie and distribution company. Rupert Murdoch just happens to be Silvio Berlusconi’s best friend and as of July 31, all of Italy’s satellite hookups were switched automatically to Murdoch’s Sky Italia.

In all honesty I blame the corporate mainstream media for keeping the American masses UNINFORMED. It is “ NO COINCIDENCE “ that the American corporate mainstream media only allows 30 SECOND SOUNDBITES! The most important issues of the day are only allowed 30 SECOND SOUNDBITES! This is intentional on the part of corporate America to keep the masses UNINFORMED.
Coupled this with the average American which the Husband and Wife works, Children in schools and sports with no time to study what’s really going on.(30 SECOND SOUNDBITE)???

<quoted text>Why can the right not understand this. Fact is Bush took us off the cliff 5 years ago. New government spending grew over 5 trillion dollars under Bush and has only grew just over 1.4 trillion under Obama but the right insists its Obama who has run up our deficit. The fact is that record spending bills passed as well as tax cuts under Bush left us with debt as well as a lack of revenue. I dont understand why we keep giving subsidies to corporations like hollywood nascar or even exxon They are filthy rich they dont need government welfare.
You are right on the money my friend!

I agree with you.

But why did Obama continued 90% of all Bush/Cheney policies.

Obama reneged on all the big ticket items he promised.

Obama passed a Republican health care bill with not ONE Republican voting for it.

Single Payer "Medicare for All" was off the Obama table.

Compare the 1912 Elections with the 2012 Elections
January 1, 2013 / http://tinyurl.com/b7bvdce
Before the electoral year of 2012 slinks into history, it is worth a comparative glance back to the electoral year of 1912 to give us some jolting perspective on how degraded our contemporary elections, voter performance and election expectations have become.

One hundred years ago, workers were marching, picketing and forming unions. Eugene Debs, the great labor leader and presidential candidate that year, spoke to outdoor labor rallies of 100,000 to 200,000 workers and their families gathered to protest low wages and working conditions.

Farmers were flexing their muscle with vibrant political activity in progressive parties and organizing farm cooperatives, through their granges, and pushing for proper regulation of the banks and railroads.

On the presidential ballot were Republican incumbent William Howard Taft, Democrat Woodrow Wilson, and the Progressive “Bull Moose” Party’s choice former president Theodore Roosevelt. Taft would be repudiated for being far too populist and too critical of corporations by today’s Republican Party. He favored national, not state, charters for “national corporations.”

The Democrats were committed to their platform of 1908 which asked “Shall the people rule? Is the overshadowing issue which manifests itself in all the questions now under discussion.” The context was shaped by the giant corporations (“called the trusts”) and their lobbies in Washington, which had to be curbed. The Supreme Court in 1911 had just ruled to break up the giant Standard Oil trust.

Women’s suffrage, abolition of child labor, workers’ compensation; states adopting the initiative, referendum, and recall; the eight-hour work day, minimum wage laws (Massachusetts was the first in 1912), taxing corporate profits and the “inheritance of fortunes,” were some of the many hot issues of 1912.

Taft, Wilson and Roosevelt fought over who was the most progressive. Theodore Roosevelt in an August 1912 speech declared that “Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day.”/ http://www.commondreams.org/view/2013/01/01-1...

The new job numbers are out and, at first glance, there is nothing surprising here. Job growth continued to inch upward in December, with 155,000 new jobs added. Of course, with several million young people joining the labor force every year, numbers like these don't actually amount to growth. We are just running in place.
But here's a statistic that jumped out at me: 89,000 public sector workers lost their jobs in October, November, and December—with most of those losses, 66,000, occurring in October.
These numbers are revised figures that are much higher than what appeared in the past BLS employment releases, so for some reason the BLS tends to lag behind in capturing the full scope of government layoffs in a timely fashion.
Anyway, back to the main point: Large-scale layoffs of government workers continue across the United States. Such layoffs undermine local economies and stymie the recovery. For every five workers who were hired in the past three months, one was laid off by government.

This must be fantasy, even though it happened in Greece and Argentina,

could never happen here,

News Article

“Thousands of people in several Argentine cities ransacked supermarkets for a second day in the latest challenge to President Chistina Kirchner, who is struggling to revive a weak economy...In the central city Rosario, two people were killed during the incidents and 137 people arrested

“The violence puts Mrs. Kirchner in a difficult position as the poor are [her] core constituents...Her government spends billions of dollars a year to help low income families, including free health care...[Yet] Argentine activists who claim to represent the poor traditionally block access to supermarkets in the month of December to demand free food and other items...The latest events were some of the worst acts of looting and vandalism in years.... Local media showed dozens of men, women, and children hauling away televisions, refrigerators, and food.”

Some have said my warnings about a coming civil war between makers and takers are exaggerated. It’s true that Argentina’s politicians have been waging class warfare since Juan and Eva Peron–and they aren’t fazed when it turns bloody. Obama and the Democrats are relative newcomers to the game. But Argentina reveals who really suffers when those who create a nation’s wealth get mugged by those who spend it–as just happened this week in Washington.

It’s the poor and the middle class, the very ones big government says it’s trying to protect.

Obama doesnt live up to what the people need and want. Unlike the republican party who stands by the corporations and the rich the democrats just give lip service to the people. They do more to stand with the working class and poor, but falls short of telling the rich to get off the bus. They follow the money just the same. What I dont understand is that 2% of the people control over 60% of the wealth, and yet these republicans complain about jobs as if the government or the workers have any control over it. I believe that over 30 years of tax breaks for the rich as well as them paying low wages to workers is to blame for our economy. You have to have a balance where the people have money to spend, and then they can afford to buy wants and not just needs. People spending money drives demand. No matter a corporations tax rate if they can provide goods or services for a profit they will. Its a fact that many roads and bridges are in disrepair, and need fixed. No corporation will do this without somehow geting a profit from it. Jobs like this are government jobs. The rich control both parties. Yes Obama to!

The fact is that this 6 trillion you speak of is not right. Obama has only 1.4 trillion in new spending. The rest is from all the spending bills under Bush that still have to be paid today. Bush passed a record number of spending bills. When he took office he had a balanced budget as well as a surplus. Funny how you want history to be rewritten.
