We live in a psychic pressure cooker, yet we have essentially NO mental health system in our country. There are mental health services available to some, but they require private insurance and are hence inaccessible to a lot of people. We live in a perfect storm for these types of outbursts. I expect to see a lot more of them as time goes on and population increases.

I guess I would pretty much agree with everything you said here and I'm no left-leaning liberal. But, I too agree that rights have dwindled over the past thirty years for any number of excuses under the guise of "public safety." But this is the reason for paranoia. It's hard to know who to trust anymore when you watch your government take away your right to live by your own choices instead of theirs - and I do mean - as long as it harms no one else or interferes with their choices or way of life.

Some times I wonder if the movies made today with all the killing, torture and realistic bloodshed has an affect on young impressionable minds. Some are convinced video games contribute to irrational or brutal behavior by desensitizing the young mind. But millions of kids play those games and realize it's just fantasy. It's the mentally unstable, IMO, that go over the cliff and act out the fantasy.

Like you, I also expect to see a lot more of this in the years to come.
