The government DemocRATS also just "rewrote" a senate bill which was originally written to 'protect email privacy'.....Nw, it "INCREASES" government access to email & other digital files. It gives government agencies more surveillance power than they possess under the current law.!!
Hope like hell you're proud of your fellow Lunatic Liberals!!!
Patrick Leahy is the DemocRAT who has dramatically reshaped his legislation under the guise of a response to law enforcement concerns. His bill now authorizes "Warrantless ACESS" to all American's private email, a vote is scheduled for next week.
As IF they hadn't already been accessing our emails!!! HA! Almost funny but too over reaching to be funny. His bill will allow 22 agencies to access American's email, google docs files, Facebook wall posts, & twitter direct messages WITHOUT A SEARCH WARRANT.
Oh, & a BONUS, it gives "Homeland Security" & the FBI more authority, to gain access to Internet accounts without notifying either the owner or a judge!
How do you like them apples!!!!!!

Barack Obama has not yet been re-elected president.
Yes, the election is over – but remember, a presidential election in America is not by popular vote.
We vote for the candidate, but what we are really doing is voting for the electors who will meet on the Monday after the second Wednesday in December.
That is when the actual re-election of the president occurs.
Is there a way to stop this?
Yes, there is.
And the best part – this is totally constitutional.
The 12th Amendment of the Constitution as well as Article II of the Constitution govern the Electoral College.
Amendment XII (1804)
Section 3. If, at the time fixed for the beginning of the term of the President, the President elect shall have died, the Vice President elect shall become President. If a President shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, or if the President elect shall have --failed to qualify,--
My suggestion IS:
The United States Constitution

AND they are getting EXACTLY what they voted for too!
The days of the police being required to have "PROBABLE CAUSE" before they read emails or 'other' communications' are quite OVER.
You Liberal Loonies are going to begin to see how much you've been LIED to. Although you'll see it too late, like everything else.....Just last year your Vermont DemocRAT Leahy was boasting to you idiots about how his bill...."provides privacy enhanced protections for American consumers by- requiring that the government obtain a search warrant".
This Leahy is now claiming 'law enforcement groups' like the "National District Attorney's Association" & the Sherriff's Ass. organizations "Objected to the legislation" & asked him to 'reconsider acting' on it. Sooo, Leahy pushed the vote back & rewrote the bill & package of amendments to be offered next Thursday. The package is a substitute for "HR 2471, which the House of reps already approved.
Apparently someone at a hill mtg. said that Justice Dept officals are not pleased about Leahy's original bill. Of course, the associate deputy attorney James Baker has 'publically warned' requiring a warrant to obtain stored email could have 'adverse impact' on criminal investigations.
So it seems all the government agencies will be gaining much more power. All government agencies.

The founding fathers committed genocide against Native Americans and condoned slavery and were against women's rights.
The Constitution 101:
In the Federalist Papers it said: We were not going to have a monarchy, and we were not going to have a democracy.$$$$$$$
And to this day we have neither. For two hundred years we have had an oligarchical system in which men of property can do well (Dumbya Bush), and others are on their own.$$$$$$$
American politics is essentially a family affair, as are most oligarchies. When the father of the Constitution, James Madison, was asked how on earth any business could get done in Congress when the country contained 100 million people whose representatives would number half a thousand, Madison took the line that oligarchy's iron law always obtains: A few people invariably run the show; and keep it, if they can, in the family.$$$$$$$
Our founding fathers had such a fear and loathing of democracy that they invented the Electoral College so that the popular voice of the people could be throttled, much as the Supreme Court throttled the Floridians on December 12, 2000.$$$$$$$
We were to be neither a democracy, subject to majoritarian tyranny, nor a dictatorship, subject to Caesarean folly.$$$$$$$
As American media is controlled by that corporate America which provides us with political candidates a well-informed electorate is not possible.$$$$$$$

Just some of the agencies that will gain all that access are: NLRB, OSHA, SEC, FTC. & also includes the Federal Reserve, Federal Trade Commission,Federal Maritime Commission, Postal regulatory Commission, National Labor Relations Board, & Mine Safety and the Health Review Commission.........just to name a few.
It is a set back for Internet companies who had hoped to convince Congress to update the 1986 Electronic Communications Privacy Act to protect documents stored in the "CLOUD".
Leahy glued those changes onto an "unrelated" privacy-related bill supported by NETFLIX.
Companies now fear this will slow the shift to "CLOUD-BASED" services unless the law is changed to be more privacy-protective. I don't think there's a chance in hell of that though.
Leahy actually once critized the FBI for requiring internet providers to build in "backdoors" for law enforcement access & he introduced a ill in the 90's protecting American's right to use whatever encryption products they wanted.
TWO-FACED wouldn't you say?

Former Murdoch Aides to Be Charged With Bribery
November 20, 2012 / http://tinyurl.com/cbrnqnj
LONDON — In a dramatic new turn in the scandals swirling around Rupert Murdoch’s British newspaper outpost, prosecutors said on Tuesday that two former top executives will be charged with paying bribes of up to $160,000 to public officials in addition to several earlier charges against them.
The Crown Prosecution Service identified the onetime aides as Rebekah Brooks, 44, and Andy Coulson, 44, both of whom have had close personal or professional ties to Prime Minister David Cameron. The British leader hired Mr. Coulson as his director of communications while in opposition and kept him on after coming to power in the 2010 elections.

“Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”
“A Republic, if you can keep it.”
AUTHOR: Benjamin Franklin (1706–90)
ATTRIBUTION: The response is attributed to BENJAMIN FRANKLIN—at
the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, when queried as he left Independence Hall on the final day of deliberation—in the notes of Dr. James McHenry, one of Maryland’s delegates to the Convention.

But Leahy also authored the 1994 "Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act", which now looms over Web companies, as well as the "Protect IP Act". An article int he New Republic concluded Leahy's work on the Patriot Act "appears to have made the bill less protective of "Civil Liberties".
Leahy had introduced significant portions of the Patriot Act under the name "Enhancement of Privacy & Public Safety in Cyberspace Act" a year earlier.
A coalition called "Digital Due Process" are attempting to block some of this crap but not having much luck.
You all didn't really think all those vehicles with "on star" & "GPS" tracking data was all for your own benefit did you? Same with all the cell phones, those handy little maps, gps, and the other abilities are meant for one thing only.....taking away your Liberties....taking away privacy period.
