Teacher pushing a walker is not funny. How would you like a bald cap for a cancer victim? Don't dress up to make others laugh at afflictions. Mean!!

Sounds fine to me, especially if the person is portraying themselves as they get old. You sound like the meanie yourself.

What if you dressed as an African American or gay person? It's a bad example to "dress" as the disabled

Being gay or black is not a disability and to characterize it that way is spurious.
If the person was using a walker, how do you know they were not being themselves as older? Some people look for something where there is nothing to see.

My child is deaf and I would be offended if a teacher used being deaf as a costume and signed all day.

I agree. Also, any teacher during school hours needs to dress as a teacher, halloween or no.

What does that have to do with the motives of the costume in question? Nothing.

Being gay or black are both disabilities. How can you say it was spurious? Kind of like coming in first place in the special olympics. You're still retreaded.

Since they set the example for our children, all teachers need to act and dress in a dignified way. How can they expect to receive respect from students if they dress and act like one?
