this is a discussion, we are not coaxing you into taking your own life..if you read this Jeremiah Lay, and you go off into your little world and kill yourself, then that is not our fault. We are discussing the union and the layoffs..that example you gave has nothing to do with this discussion.

Well no offense I agree with you to some extent but not fully. I worked there fro several years as well and recently got laid off. I have humana insurance on myself for 114.00 a month. So if you are only making 6.75 an hour and paying a couple hundred a month on insurance, maybe try shopping around. Also dont down on anyone wanting to strike for losing anything. If everyone would have been as easy as you are and not fought for what we have, you would not had been at that great paying job with good benefits. It would be like the job you have presently. It took a lot of years fighting for what they have, and I say fight it right in the ground if thats what it takes.

I just think that there were a lot of bad decisions made at that place from management, then the economy didn't help much either. Now, all they have to show for it is their layoff record. I think it is sad that you people got laid off. Times are hard and I guess the saying "it gets worse before it gets better" is true. Hopefully the worst is almost over and things will start looking better SOON! We can only hope. Good luck to all you who read this and are without work or to the rest of us who are doing what we can to make ends meet.

record number of people lost their jobs last month, not just knox county, barbourville, or truseal. this is a global economic issue.

It is always that way more for management and less for the workers. Right now they have someone in there watching us to see how they can cut jobs and keep all those people in the front office, 3 people to 2 lines and not slow the line down. If everyone dont take a stand now it will only get worse, dont kill yourself to do that for the company. I say if they want to cut more people let them cut people like Michael Bargo that never does anything or the team leaders that try and do our job or R and D that is a waste of money. How much christmas bonus will the people in the union get, the team leaders are getting 2 weeks. Local 8411 it is time to stand up for yourself.

Bruce wilson had a letter back in maintace yesterday that said we get 1 1/2 days. Thats a slap to our faces. You are right about getting rid of those office people. They have us working so they can keep their jobs. I would rather them shut the doors on the place and see everyone in that front office loose their jobs than I had see another one of my union brothers walk out the door. You are so right. Its time to make a stand.

Nobody likes to take a step backward and from what I hear all the employees up there union and non union are taking cuts from what normal bonuses are. Insurance has gone up more this year than wages in a lot of cases. Just be glad you still have a decent job in these tough economic times. Not all companies will survive these bad times. The housing market has already claimed some victims as they have had to close the doors. Some are most likely customers of Truseal. You guys better chill out and just try to work with the company as best you can. The job you save just might be your own. Trust me, I have experienced a similar situation. We refused to change our work habits or take concessions and it ultimately cost us our jobs I think. Best of luck up there !!!

Don't you think we all need our jobs? They cut people based on seniority. Look at all the people that have been employed there for years and don't do jack. Seems to me like your a bitter person. Why bring up names and departments on here? If you gotta problem with a person, talk to them instead of posting names on B'ville Gossip Headquarters. Grow up. Do you think TruSeal's President is going to get on topix and base his next move on what people are saying on here? Think not...

They do not cut people in the front office by seniority they cut them based on if they are one of Pats sucks and if you dont see that then you are blind. The simple truth is the union workers have always had to give things up to keep the company happy. If you think anyone in that office cares about you you are sadly mistaken, you are a number and nothing more. My point was if they want to make cuts cut those that are dead weight Like Bargo, I am a proud member of the Local 8411 and hell no I dont care if anyone in that office has a job, if it was a union brother or sister then yes I do care.

I respect your opinion, but my thoughts are a little different, I guess. I care more for my communities "mothers and fathers" than I do about our union "brothers and sisters". All of us have children and families to support no matter if we work up front, in the middle, or out back. Nobody is rolling in the dough around here and we ALL need our job...

michael is a good guy with three kids. the office people have families too. why would you wish harm on any family whether union or not?.....just don't see it that way myself. michael doesn't work in the front office anyway. i didn't see all this union love when i was still working? you do sound bitter. harming michael won't help your situation now will it?

Just like everyone else you are mising the point, now if I said take Michael out and beat the shit out of him that is harm but no I said if they want to cut back like they keep telling everyone then that would be a good place to start. You know I am not bitter but I just get sick of the company saying we are laying off because the econonmy is bad and the only people that go are the union people. Yes michael does work in the front office he is in management and there are other people up there that have a family and the company could care less about them.
