Variety is the spice of life. Marty never had an ill word or a boring moment. In 1990 I was at a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert in another state . The band stopped for a moment and recognized a guy waving a banner that said "play me a song Curtis Loew"..... It was our friend Marty! He was nice to the kids at little league when he umped and always had a supportive comment for my child.

Does anyone know what happen to Marty ? I didn't know him personally but knew of him from back in the 90s. Everyone seem to like him. I seen him out and about a lot back in the day and seen him work a few ball games. You could tell he was a good person. I'm just curious what happen to him ? 44 years is young and Marty all ways seem like healthy energetic person. I wouldn't think a person like Marty would pass so young.

RIP Marty

I just want to say that I had never been to a more unique funeral as Marty's. It is as it should have been. It was just like he would have wanted. They say when someone passes away, you should celebrate their life and not be sad. Don't get me wrong....we are all sad; however, we did celebrate his life last night. Stories were told, laughter was heard (as well as tears)- He was so loved. and will be truly missed.

Another person mentioned that topix is known for slamming people and this is the one topic that has no negativity. That's because no one can say anything bad about him. He was a great person who touched the lives of many.

R.I.P. never to be forgotten.

One of his best traits was that he seemed to know everyone's name and could remember names better than anyone. If he ever knew you, he would never forget and he would make a point to call you by your name.... I remember that most about him. Very unique person.

Marty was a genious in his own right. He was incredibly smart you could ask him anything about baseball from the past and he could tell you everything you wanted to know. He was truly a great guy and a good friend of mine. He always showed up on new years at my home to wish me a happy new years..he did it every single new years. He didn't have to but he was very thoughtful of other people and just generally a great guy. Sure gonna miss him sayin how bout a little volume thumper with the ACDC boxed set loaded into the disc changer :)

Maybe he was an Angel? I believe there are Angels that are on earth that take on fleshly bodies a while. They are sent to us by God to touch and enrich our lives somehow. Sounds like if you encountered him you were lucky indeed! God bless you all that knew him.

But did you ever hear Marty say a harsh word against anyone? No, because Marty loved people! He also loved to party. But I can't hold that against him!
