The absent parent paying child support isn't someone paying you to take care of your child. It's funds to help provide for that child that the absent parent has a obligation toward. I know for a fact that if the absent parent is in the state of kentucky and if they are three months behind or even 1,000. Which ever comes first, you yourself can sign a warrant off for them and have them picked up. They will lose their license etc. trust me I've done it.

I'm a single mother. I love my son more than the world. I could care less if his father pays childsupport. He is my son too. I don't need money handed to me to raise him. I work and I do my best to provide for him. Childsupport seems like someone paying you to take care of your child. If his father doesn't pay that's fine,I know in my heart I do my part and that's all that matters.
Amen!!!!!!!! Finally someone that says the right thing. I personally think that there should be no custodial parent and both parents share visitation weekly. Nobody pays child support etc

i agree.......i go 2 momths with nothing and then he pays a month and then its 2 more before he pays again! why should they be allowed to go 3 months? the electric co wont wait 3 months and you cant feed them every 3 months and if they wanna be in any school activitys that cost $ they wont wait 3 months! so why do they have the right to wait 3 months before paying? the big wigs just dont get how hard it is to be a single, hard working parent with little or no help! if they do they sure as hell dont show it!
the get off your butt and get a job and take care of your kids... If they want to join in school activities then make sure they do..get a job and pay for it cause if you make the child suffer because your waiting on child support then your no better then the dead beat you had them with.

agreed. A child should be able to make the decision weather they want to see the other parent or not it should be left up to the child not the mother the father nor any judge. Unless either parent is strung out on drugs etc.

Its a joke in Knox County because of the Judge. There are men that owe 30 and 40 thousand and I've watch them tell them just come back in 3 months. It just keeps going everyone knows she not going to do anything why pay it.
that's not true they put my husband in jail everytine the get a chance. The sea have him over work because of a back injury and he tries to get them to lower his support till he can get back to work and they wouldn't even give him a review and by ky statue law cases are supposed to be review every 36 months to see the income statues of each parent and they dont do it. They just keep taking every dime in taxes and puting him in jail.

My ex husband is Nicholas Mandel from Knox County- I am not afraid to put his name on here because it isn't slander when it is true. I am counting down the days until my deadbeat ex husband has to stand up on Court and explain to a Judge why he makes the CHOICE not to support his children. My ex isn't just a deadbeat because he doesn't pay support but because he doesn't see his children or even call his children-again his choice. I do not live in Knox County and I can't wait for the day they drag his deadbeat butt into Court and explain to a Judge why he thinks it is optional to assist in supporting his children. I have an education, I have a well paying full-time job as a paralegal. I am remarried and my husband has an education and a good job. My parents are financially secure. My ex husband thinks it is okay to not pay child support because if I need help I can ask my husband or my Dad. I am blessed that I have a husband and my parents who can help me pay child care or sports fees, but that doesn't excuse my ex and I feel bad for the single mothers who don't have other family to turn to. I can't go to the grocery store and say, sorry I will pay you when I get my child support, no my kids need to eat now. My ex husband is over $20,000 behind in support. In the 4.5 years we have been divorced my children have received support for all of 16 months. The only time my children receive their support is when the state garnishes the support. I have three children my ex is supposed to assist in supporting-and the kicker is only two of them are my children. My oldest child is my exhusband's child from his first marriage. Sadly both of my oldest son's parents (mom and dad) are deadbeats. I am not legally obligated to support this child financially but I do everyday. I had Tennessee court order's for child support, but since we both now reside in Kentucky, Kentucky just registered my orders for full enforcement and served the deadbeat on April 1. That means one step closer to seeing them haul him up here to Pendelton County and answer for his actions. Do not misunderstand, my ex sitting in jail isn't going to help my children get their support, I would much rather my ex be given a chance to man up and do right by his children. But that is his choice to make, so I am fine with the Judge giving him a chance. My ex is getting $415 a week in unemployment and because Tennessee was unable to garnish KY unemployment I have had to wait for them to file and serve the papers so KY will be able to garnish. Well they day is quickly approaching when my child support orders will be fully enforced in the state of Kentucky.

Wow this really seams to be a bash on the single parents that are trying to raise their children. This should be a discussion on ways to fix things. But why do the parents have to go to the grand jury? The state already know how far behind they are. All they should do is send a list to the sheriff department with the warrants. I was a single dad raising 2 girls full time. They never seen their mother and I paid child support. This is such a jacked up system. There needs to be a lot of changes.
