Those have been restricted in the US for many years they are full auto rifles. The only way you can own one of those is to get a license from the government and pay thousands of dollars for one.The ban discussed isn't about those guns.
Correct... Actual Assault weapons require a transfer tax and a class 3 Lic and have for decades...... What is being considered is a ban on weapons that Look like assault weapons but have the same capabilities as a Hunting Rifle... Including working rifles like the Ruger Ranch Rifle...

I can't believe how ignorant people are. The honest person isn't going to go out and shoot anyone (unless they are breaking into my house or trying to rob me). But, the crook will still kill & rob with a gun regardless if there is a ban or not. They are still going to find a way to get a gun. Any gun!! So all this ban would be doing is punishing the honest person who wants to own a assault rifle. And why do I want a AK? Well, they are fun to shoot!!(at targets)
The law only applie's to assault weapon's.( Military styled weapon's )

It's kinda like a gateway drug... If Passed it would have the same people using it for the Next Step... During the time it was in effect over 40 bills were placed in front of Congress seeking to Ban other weapons and even a few to Totally Ban Handguns... In Every case the so called Assault Weapons Ban and Ban on Stocks, Magazines and other after market accessories (The Ban also includes Bans on over 15 items unattached to a weapon of any kind) was spoken of as reason such other bans was acceptable by the people...

All because of the Look of a firearm... Not the Function of the weapon... One of the proposed laws that got a large vote during the last ban was one to Ban Semi Auto rifles altogether... And there was another vote to Ban Semi Auto Handguns except for Law Enforcement... Another was to Ban All Handgun unless equipped with a Bio Lock.. A Lock system that would make the gun un-fireable unless in the hand of the Owner wearing a ring or watch with a RFID transmitter...

Some think ..No Way... Well I can list a 100 Laws across the nation that started with a minor Rule and, when allowed, grew to Criminal Laws that either will cost you lots of cash or even jail... And we were told No Way when people said what the outcome would be...

We had a So Called Assault Weapons Ban... During it's time in effect there was ZERO reduction in crimes committed with So Called assault weapons... The Lowest Weapons crime rates are in the jurisdictions that have the least Gun Control laws... The Highest Crime Rates Nation Wide are in the jurisdictions that have the strictest gun laws... The Reasons are simple... Bad Guys don't Obey Gun Laws and know the law abiding citizens will be un-armed in strict gun law areas... When they think kicking in the door will be met with a Semi Auto 12 gauge, AR, AK, SKS or 16 rounds from a Glock they tend to reconsider the action...

No my reading is just fine, I read the Bill and only saw where they would ban hand gun's with fixed magazines that held more than 10 round's. A Glock has a detachable clip.

Which handgun uses a fixed magazine? Just ststing what I read.
`(F) A semiautomatic pistol that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine, and has--

`(i) a second pistol grip;

`(ii) a threaded barrel;

`(iii) a barrel shroud; or

`(iv) the capacity to accept a detachable magazine at a location outside of the pistol grip.

`(G) A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.

`(39) Fixed Magazine- The term `fixed magazine' means an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm.

Which handgun uses a fixed magazine? To answer your question a C96 Mauser Broom handle is one that I can think of.

They sure do. And they have a clip you can buy for them that holds 32 04 38 rounds if I'm not mistaken.

That would be a modification to the original gun making it illegal. The gun as it came with the original magazine would be legal.

I think Glock sells these for all their handguns, I'm not sure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Sure would be nice to have a few, maybe 10 or so.
