Why would anyone down grade these kids like what you just said that makes me sick. Maybe because you are a looser, Leave these baby's alone, just because their winning games should show you at least they are trying. My God what is wrong with people,: I will say one thing they don't Bragg, they give all their success and credit to God my friend. I hope some day when these KIDS grow up to be a man, that you will have to eat your words. Don't ever down grade a kid no matter what kind of family they come from. Man I fill so sorry for you and I will be pray for you, that someday sometime that God shows you these little Children are our future!!!!!!!!!!SHAME)

Let me tell you something about God, he is in everything and everywhere. And the way you are talking don't you think God has heard you, Further more I don't consider myself as a hypocrite my friend. I thought this issue and tread was about Basketball at Flat Lick. You need to come and go to church with me Sunday if you believe in God and maybe you will get a Blessing.

Merry Christmas:

Let me explain something to the people who are idiots and have NO earthly idea about holdbacks. In all reality there is no such thing as a holdback. The KHSAA, for you idiots that's (Kentucky High School Athletic Association) set a age limit along time ago, based on what the National High School Association, had established the maximum age a student/athlete can be and be eligible to play. If you are ( 18 ) August 1st , entering your senior year is the maximum age. You can turn 19 on August 2nd your senior year and be eligible. So, if your child is not meeting these standards then they are considered a pushed forward. If you get your child on track to meet this age standard then you are helping them out, and they are not having to compete against kids that are a year older. So either hold your kid back or shut up about parents who want what's best for their child. Wake up. The new rule is if you want to hold your kid back, you have to do it before they enter 6th grade.

School is now over. Thank you

I thought it was absolutely hilarious to watch this one old lady make a complete fool of herself at one of the games, and someone said it was the coaches mother! lol! She was making fun of 6th grade kids like a champ. All joking aside though I feel terrible for that woman because she honestly can't have any idea how pitiful she looks.
She was making fun of the kids, calling them names, telling them they can't hit a shot and that they were cheating. Lay was down by 12 points, with under a minute left in the game, but they were cheating??? And yes, she is the mother of Flat Lick's coach! She is the most miserable old woman that I've ever met and I can't believe that the coach knows how she behaves and does not say anything! I wasn't sitting that close to her, but you could hear her all over that side of the gym so she's apparently not afraid of parents hearing her. I would have loved to wash her mouth out with soap for the names she was calling Lay's players! No kid deserves to be talked to or degraded like that! So for all the Flat Lick fans, you can thank Miss "D" for being an embarrassment to your school.

Is holding them back for another year or even two going to help in the long run? I think not! There is not any kids around here going to the NBA so it's a big waste if your child's time.

Go to church with you, friend you are either in the church or out no matter where you are, God lives only in mans heart, not in some building somewhere. If you have to go to a building somewhere to seek God, you may wanna have bible study with me..but I think you would get your hypocrit feelings bruised. Christmas is for pagans, of pagans and by pagans, Just as basketball or any other sporting event. Each day is a blessing to me, no matter what it brings.

You ...to answer your first question. Yes........to answer your second question. NO.....to answer your third question. I held my kid back for Sports, for maturity and for Academics. I want him to have every advantage he is aloud to by Law. So if you are not taken advantage of the bylaws to benefit your child then yes your a DUMBASS. You not understanding the benefits of holding a child back makes you an idiot..Me holding my child back is No business of yours, except when they meet on the court or the field or the classroom and you say why is he so much stronger and bigger and more mature than my son. YES HE IS A HOLDBACK.. Do the it for your child and shut up.

I see nothing wrong in holding a child back for academics or maturity. But he or she (the student) should not be allowed to particpate in sports activies during the school year!! Good luck with the sports career, I've seen it done a lot around here, It never seems to pan out!!

If you see nothing wrong with it why make your statements about kids and parents that choose this legal route. If a kid can use sports and their academic achievement's to help get them money for college and have a better life for themselves and family, then why not take every advantage you can for your child.

Because you are rewarding your child through sports activites not academics, Because your child is bigger and stronger in Elementary school does not make him a better athlete! When they arrive in High School, The other student athletes catch up and a lot of times pass by the hold back with pure talent!! I have followed and watched sporting events for forty years, A legit 6th grader, can not play physically with a 8th grader!! Good luck and I hope your child goes to college on a academic scholarship, But getting a scholarship for Basketball or any other sports achievement is becoming harder and harder for our area kids, mostly just a dream!!

People who hold their children back in school to play sports are pure retards. If your child is really that talented then they should be just as talented in middle school and high school. It cracks me up going to six grade night and hearing that kids that get held back are getting straight A's. If they have to repeat the same grade twice then no wonder they are getting good grades! Thats not fair to the kids who really are in 5th and 6th grades trying to play ball against kids who are older and most of the time twice their size.
