Yes, because secession worked out so well the last time.*eyeroll* I mean, how many people were killed the last time our country divided and took up arms against each other? 620,000? Yeah, we really don't need to do that again. "United, we stand; divided, we fall," and all of that...

What we need is to stop with the polarization and demand that those we've elected to represent us do the same, and learn to compromise. Neither the GOP's nor the Democratic agenda is right for all Americans, and nothing moves forward because neither side wants to give an inch. Our politicians act like children these days, and treat our Nation's capitol like an elementary school playground. It's insulting.

It's time for this country to grow up. We don't need to divide. We need to stand together, find common ground (it is there,) and demand that those we've elected to represent us remember who it is they're working for. We can change things, but not if we continue to divide ourselves and try to run away from our problems by threatening secession. We're Americans. Since when have we the people ever backed down from a challenge?

Instead of signing petitions for secession, why not sign one to do away with the electoral college? Stop allowing certain states to decide who becomes the president - if we're all created equal, then we should have an equal voice in our government, right?

Receding? As in a receding hairline? I was unaware that a state could voluntarily move in its entirety. Oh, you mean SECEDING, or to formally withdraw from membership, as in a federal alliance.

I'm not in favor of any state doing it. I thought we were the UNITED STATES of America. Times are going to get tough from time to time. That doesn't mean you should split the country up. It could be dangerous. Perhaps we should just divide up into provinces, like Canada?

kroger announcing nation wide, edpt cards off line today, if each state were dependant on its slef, I think things would be way better off, we should take care of our own, all the monies going over seas to help the poor, what about our poor, take care of your neighbor before looking elsewhere
