Anyone know how to get up with the slaughter house? I have tried to call them as I need to take a cow to them and the number has been disconnected.

WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT GO TO ROARKS ,,we bought an 800lb calf and took it there and what we got back was not what we took there,,,that junk in the boxes we picked up was not fit to feed to our dogs we cooked the junk for up to 4 hrs and u still couldnt eat it ,,,,we had a previous employee there to come look at the meat and tell us what was wrong,,and he said that they keep the fresh meat from our calf ,,and sent us home with some older meat that wasnt picked up by the person that brought it there,,,i promise you im not lying, its the gospel thruth,,,i would not even take a rabbit down there to them people for prossesing,,,go any where but there,,,even manchester would be better (amish)meats

I AGREE; lots of good veggies to eat. Why kill a poor calf.

In post #6, an Amish meat place in Manchester was mentioned. I'd like to know more about it, such as the name, location, etc., and if anyone else has bought meat there. Thank You

I only get to shop at Roark Meats once a year when I'm visiting family in Kentucky but have always had great food from their retail shop. Their butcher will custom cut ribeyes and grind meat for chili to your specifications. Everything I've bought has been high quality and the boys working there could not be friendlier.

I took a 32 lb ham in to Roark's for slicing and wrapping. 32 pounds---after they got through with it I got 12 lbs of meat. I am not the sharpest knife on the table but something there is wrong, wrong, wrong. With all I have had killed before should have been 18-20 pounds at least.

Go up route 11 all the way through Manchester, 4 miles north on 11; turn right on Bowling Branch Rd and go 2 miles. The Amish have the BEST meat in the country!!!

Sound like another hsus nut talking out thier butt. They are trying to take away you rights no fishing or hunting. They don't even want you to have pets. They kill more animals than they take care of and use your money to get fat
