I do like that one! Or the Church in the Wildwood. I was at an antique store and picked up a songbook from 1908 titles songs everyone should know.

Have any of you ever been poor or even felt downtrodden at any point ...during your golden life?
What did Wolf try to get across when he posted that a lot of the men and women fighting on either side during the civil war were in their respective armies so they could eat regularly, not because they had strong feelings politically, either way? It was a short post but it spoke volumes..
Yup. I've been poor where we "robbed Peter to pay Paul" and my life sure isnt golden. My heart breaks every morning my kid walks past me to the door on their way to work , looks straight past me and won't even speak to me. Ya know it hurts. Hurts bad. How about ....on and on.

As far as people joining the armed services to eat? People still do that. It really is a paying job. You think people sign up to volunteer without any benefits?? Think again.

Any way I've been doing a little traveling today and the weather is fantastic for driving! The skies are grey but the sun is peeking through! Yes Yes!! I plan to stop in the town my great grandparents lived and look for their last house. Wonder if its still there...

Sitting in a folding chair looking up into a semi- nude monkey bar swinger holds no interest for me. I never cared for spectator sports. If I can't participate, I surely do not want to watch. LOL But a duet down by the river??? hmmmmmmm

hahaha Snippy little Nut cracker! LMAO But what does it all mean? The same thing It'll mean in oh 150-200 years, nothing.

Home is where your heart is and you'll happily stay there whenever possible today. No one has to know you're naked waist-down beneath the apron. If you enjoy cooking, you'll get tremendous satisfaction from shutting yourself in the kitchen and either producing a delicious meal or creating some Christmas food that can live in the freezer until you need it.
Festive bird-shaped Christmas cookies perhaps? Be careful, don't break their fragile little peckers.

No, that song is too sad and was actually sung at Elvis's funeral. Something more lively like "My Ding-Aling" lol

Hi threaders. Made it home safe and sound and no longer in a hateful mood. Better half told his employer he was going to bow out of this job. No paycheck --panic!! But I don't blame him. 7 nights @12 hours a night . Nope. Too much.

Last summer I took the kids to a state park playground. Monkey bars!! So this Goldie oldie thought she would give it a try. I grabbed the overhead bar and took my feet off the ladder. I COULDN'T MOVE! Oh WOW!! I hung there like a sack of potatoes! Then I remembered my arm that'd been broken a couple years ago and wondered if I had managed to reach another bar and all the weight was suspended from the "broken " arm... Was it strong enough to hold my 200 pounds??? I dropped down and walked off.

Lol.(Not) but I did think about how important all those trucks are for moving unbelievable amounts of , of everything ! Those escorted hazmat trucks and the oversized wide loads. The stinking pigs. My Walmart clothes. Was it AW or imposter that mentioned these road warriors? Well they are right.

Hope everyone feels better. So many things I miss about the days when my children were still at home, the illnesses is not one of them. It seems they were always coming home with something and then it was passed so kindly around the house.

What I always hated was working straight through from New Years Day to Memorial Day without even a weekend off and it seems that as soon as I got a Holiday, one of the kids would make me sick. I don't miss the lack of days off or the getting sick on the Holiday. LOL I never could figure out why I could not get sick on company time?

@ Anne, you sure have a big heart. Partner's in Conn. today. He's the little short guy driving a black truck. Hehe. Thanks for your kind words. He should be home around the 22nd;) Been out since Oct. 30th :( At leadt, we have eachother and that's really all that matters.
Not as cold the past two days. Now, that's better. I've been planning Holiday dinner. Thanksgiving was more of pinto beans, cornbread, corn and stuffing. I'm baking a homemade cheesecake with streusel topping- Lovey gets to assist- for dessert ,as well as, sweet potatoes. Can't decide whether to fix cornish hens with a cranberry glaze, lobster or roast. Ahhh, I'll let that famished man decide. Lol.
Blessed day to All.
