Just had a Cracker Barrel lunch with my cousin and her elderly aunt. Nice time. Aunt Mary is a delight to be around and still lives in the home her and her husband built many years ago. She chuckles when she explains her eldest brother was 26 years older than her. Being the baby of the family with siblings that much older she was treated like a princess! To top it all off, her husband treated her wonderfully also! She has lived a blessed life and she is thankful !

I have a great fear of not being able to get out and work around the shack, I'll do what it tales to keep being able to build things. I couldn't stand to be homebound or bed ridden. I think Wolf knows just what I'm talking about. A working man enjoys working more that almost anything else. Thank the good lord above I can still drive a nail. I hope I go out on my feet, with my work boots on and a skillsaw in my hand . If it wasn't Sunday I would be working on something now. Wolf gave me a good idea, I think I'll go see my friend in the retirement home and take in the evening service with him there. Good day people.
Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about. When I can't find enough to keep me active here, I just look around to see where I can help elsewhere. I don't know any of those people in the nursing facility yet, but I learned that some Sunday Services were being held there and I went and volunteered to help move some of the residents that wanted to attend to the dining facility where the services were being held. It is a treat to see those really old people still smiling and joining in on singing the old Gospel songs. I might have just found out why GOD gave me some bonus time. Enjoy your visit with your friend.

<quoted text>I ate bacon for breakfast every single morning for many many years, used the grease in my biscuits and gravy, two eggs over easy and salted all that to my taste. Drank my tea super sweet and never had a problem with weight at all, but the old ticker just about gave out on me recently mostly due to cholesterol build up forming a blockage.
Now I am on a strict diet prescribed by a cardiologist. Its not so bad, and I do have more energy. I may even be able to cut out the meds soon if things keep going like they are.
I do miss that bacon though.
Yessir, I understand the blockage thing. After the second attack, the cardiologist stuck a stint up there and with Lipitor have lived good the last 14 years. Hammers!!!!!!-??? Like ya all, I've got a 15 x 30 foot wood shop in the back yard and sure do like piddle'n. But I use air hammers / tee nailers a lot because for me it's easier and faster. I've got some back problems so I'm currently making an adjustable height, swivel top table to put smaller projects on so I can sit and work/play!

I'm still up and about, reading all your posts. I just blew my diet. I got an attack of the 'hungries' and ate two bowls of cereal....that is not what I need. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Hubby has gone camping with the little guy, so I have to stay on the farm to keep the homefires burning and take care of the critters. It's just too quiet here with both of them gone, but I am catching up on chores I don't have time for when they are underfoot. Hope everyone has had a good day. I keep you all in my prayers. Lala

Need gloves and ear muffs
Snow drifts
Long Underwear

It rained here during the night and again for about 5 minutes a little bit ago. The grass is literally growing by leaps and bounds! Last year at this time there were large brown patches of crunchy grass all over the yard. I watered and watered, reseeded and fertilized to no avail. Guess it saved all that seed and fertilize for this summer and REAL rain water!

It has just started sprinkling a little here, that's OK though my gazebo is finished. Well except the paint. Close enough for now. Lord willing I'm going to put in a rock patio close beside it sometime this summer and then a brick barbecue grill on that.
At least I hope to do that.
You know how it goes.... the best laid plans of mice and men...That's why I always say LORD willing LOL.

I agree. We had a shower earlier. Looks like more rain on the way. It seems to have cooled down as well;) I know, the kitchen has been sweltering lately between the heat from the stove and temps. I noticed that the mercury/ fluorecent bulbs seem to put off a lot of heat as well. I've been sitting and relaxing in dark most nights.
Good evening to All. Am going to watch some Breaking Bad episodes and listen to some Boz Skaggs.
