Wellll, I've spent about 15 bucks at yard sales. Got some good puzzles for winter fun! After I work them I will pass them to some Amish friends, so these puzzles have been started on quite a life! Lol.

Pool divas! You ladies soaking in the sun today?

Thanks Imposter. I have found that I can actually tolerate the oatmeal if I stir in a spoonful of homemade apple butter. I figure there is enough sweet in the apple butter to not need anything else in it.
Ancient Wolf, either Quick Oats or complete whole oats ( Quick is one minute, rolled is five.) are great. A little brown sugar and a couple tablespoons of white sugar plus a trickle of maple syrup around the edge are great for any meal. Plus a very little milk around the edge helps to cool them down. The instructions on the box for one serving is small so I always double the amount. Lots of fiber so they ARE good for ya'.As the wife says, they'll stick to your ribs for a while.

I eat 'em every day. Love the way they taste and prep time is Quick.
I just don't care much for cold cereal.

Good afternoon, folks. Been hiding near the AC this week....hot weather is good, but this is too much of a good thing, even for me. AW, I wish that my tomatoes would mature. The deer and rabbits got most of mine, and the few that I have left are scrawny and green yet. There is no shortage of squash, cucumbers, and beans. I've been passing off much of it to my neighbors, who have been kind to us by giving their produce for years. At least this year, I can reciprocate. I wish that I had at least one ripe tomato, to make that scrumptious BLT, but alas, I have none.

Peanut butter and jelly are top priority today, so let everything else go by the board for the time being. Enjoy nutella when you get the chance, even if it ends up costing you way more money. You'll be thrilled when things will go really weird with you-know-who at you-know-where at you-know-when for you-know-how-long.

I have been doing pretty good with the new diet. I appreciate life enough to make the changes.
It was a hot muggy day for sure but I got a lot of work done despite the heat. Praise tomorrow and I'll be finished with my project sometime Monday Lord willing. Then I'll have a nice place to sit out in the cool this fall. What a view I'll have, life is good folks...Like Joe Dirt said- Life is a garden, so dig it. Have a good evening people.

An interesting articles for those Folks who choose to eat healthy. I find stevia as well as honey are better alternatives as sweeteners. Sucralose/ splenda, artificial sweeteners are terrible for diabetics.
Nice night, the frogs and insects are happy;)

Hey Misty.......please explain to this older brain your thinking that Splenda is terrible for diabetics. Been trying to eat right for 13 years now and Splenda is the only one I can stand.

To Ancient & Imposter (I think)...Just purely by accident this year I bought Early Girl tomato plants and durn if they didn't live up to the name. My get up and go did just that so I've resorted to that "already-cooked-just-micr o-wave" bacon. It's really not too bad if you don't over heat it! Whole wheat toast, it'll do the job OK. I eat cold, sliced, salted tomatoes as a good snack with a western on the tube. Gotta Love It!!!!!!

Ya all talk'n about the heat here of late. I don't know what it's been around your place but it hit 94 degrees here today. But I guess that's about average but it will go up some. This smart little machine of mine tells me for the next four days it's from 40 to 60% chance of rain. Yeah, and then......HUMIDITY......I guess! That's MS.

I don't use much salt. For bland items such as sliced tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, and French Fries; I use pepper instead. I rarely eat bacon or shrimp (two of my favorites), since both of those increase the possibility of gout. For cold cereals, I only eat Raisin Bran since the raisins are already sweet.

Dog and I have been up for quite some time. We spent a couple of hours of communing with GOD and nature outside in the cool pre-dawn hours and now getting ready to go do volunteer work at the Nursing home.

@ Mississippi Man, I just recommend what what we know as fact...honey is natural, so is sugar cane. I only use light amounts of sugar. And eating apples is great as well. Sugar is like sodium, it's alright as long as you don't partake of too much.
I try to stay aware of all the latest studies about food products and such. That's just me. I don't want my children to have foods with aspartame and sucrolose.
Nice Sunday here, somewhat cloudy. Good day to All the fine birders:)

I ate bacon for breakfast every single morning for many many years, used the grease in my biscuits and gravy, two eggs over easy and salted all that to my taste. Drank my tea super sweet and never had a problem with weight at all, but the old ticker just about gave out on me recently mostly due to cholesterol build up forming a blockage.
Now I am on a strict diet prescribed by a cardiologist. Its not so bad, and I do have more energy. I may even be able to cut out the meds soon if things keep going like they are.
I do miss that bacon though.

I have a great fear of not being able to get out and work around the shack, I'll do what it tales to keep being able to build things. I couldn't stand to be homebound or bed ridden. I think Wolf knows just what I'm talking about. A working man enjoys working more that almost anything else. Thank the good lord above I can still drive a nail. I hope I go out on my feet, with my work boots on and a skillsaw in my hand . If it wasn't Sunday I would be working on something now. Wolf gave me a good idea, I think I'll go see my friend in the retirement home and take in the evening service with him there. Good day people.
