If I was there I would keep you warm baby...thank you, that is sweet. I would let you if you were here. It sucks to be sick and by yourself on New Year's Eve. A first for me in my lifetime. I hope you have a Happy New Year.

For AW, lala, Hempburn and all dog lovers...this is too cute and the dog is adorable. A special New Year's Eve video. Enjoy

Dog moaning its way through 'Auld Lang Syne' doesn't want 2013 to come

Hoping for a rocking New Year's Eve party? Might want to cross Sierra the singing dog off your guest list. Here she is, moaning along to "Auld Lang Syne," with her buddy Cody chiming in from the sidelines. The musical canines belong to sax player Adam Yamada-Hanff and have appeared on Anderson Cooper's show. They're also the stars of Yamada-Hanff's SingingDogs.net website and have their own Singing DogsRock channel on YouTube. But while this Baltimore-based English shepherd may be a musical maestro, this time she just can't be bothered to sit up straight to ring in 2013. Here's hoping this isn't yet another sign of an impending apocalypse.[Source]

My dog said so much for that, it won't distract me from trying to steal your chocolate cupcake. LOL

Sitting here looking at a picture of a 1930 Cadillac 452A with a V-16 engine. Now that is a car. It is on my new calendar that I am waiting to put up. Bad luck to hang it early, I am told. LOL

I love looking through this old stuff and it is amazing what you can learn. I found an old dog-eared and yellowed "undeliverable" letter my great-granddaddy had written to some outfit in Chicago in 1894 wanting them to send him some medication for "piles". I never knew my great-granddaddy had hemmorhoids. LOL It had to be for Preparation-A or B. They surely had not made it up to "H" yet. LOL

Oh, Una, why must you be so fixated on your colo-rectal exhaust. We all have gas, but you are the only one I've met who can classify them according to type, loudness, and deadliest fumes. Happy New Year to you. Hope you have a good year coming up.

My oh my, AW. Never would have imagined you smoking weed LOL. I don't see any point to it either. I tried it a few times in college and all I got was the 'munchies'. Let me tell you something. The weed of our generation(I'm just 10 years younger than you), is definitely not like the weed today. It's way,way stronger. One of my "darling daughters" used to smoke it, among other things. She lost a joint in the house while visiting. I found it and told hubby that I was going to try it, just to see what it was like. He warned me not to, and with good reason. I smoked only 1/2 of that joint and I was blown away, partly because it was so strong, and that I did not have this for 40 years. Hubby got me laughing, and I could not stop. Right at that time, my accountant called me for my annual tax review. I could not stop laughing, didn't comprehend half of what he said, and generally made an azz of myself. That was a few years ago, and I will NEVER try that stuff again.

I tried it a long time ago and it did nothing for me, I never even got the munchies. My friends were talking about how great it was, I did not see anything great about it. I have had more buzz from an old hand made cigar that PAP went down to the tobacco barn and rolled. He caught us trying to smoke and said "Come on boys, lets go get a real smoke". After I quit turning green, I was cured. LOL

I wish that I had someone to teach me a lesson. Consequently, I smoked for many years until last spring, when I started using the electronic cigarette. What a wonderful thing that is to help smokers quit. It gives you the sensation of smoking a cigarette, but only vapor is inhaled, so there are no carcinogenic byproducts. You don't get the smoke that bothers other folks, and for once, my curtains and windows are cleaner without the cigarette smoke. Of course, being in the hospital so much last summer, I didn't have the opportunity to smoke, and I was too sick to sneak outside for a smoke. So my medical problems last spring and summer had a silver lining after all. That helped me quit.

My ancestors were largely tobacco farmers on very small hill side farms. They lived all year long with cows, pigs, chickens, and the garden and had that one pay check a year when they sold the crop and settled up their accounts and started again.

Good night, everyone, and Happy and Prosperous New Year. Una and Impostor: I hope that you continue to contribute to the conversation without reverting to negative comments. You have much to offer. When you let your guard down a little bit, you show a lot of insight and reasoning power. Anyway, good-night to all, and I'll be back tomorrow, God Willing.
