I did look online and it appears that Paul's Discounts is still in business and also has lots of Christmas decor and sewing needs.

Another very cold morning. Going to sit and wait for the sun to come up, and watch all the birds!

Good morning, everyone. Waking up to another chilly, but beautiful Kentucky day. Of course, everyday that you wake up is a beautiful day. Hi, Roaminginsomniac. I guess I am not the only one to rise this morning. The birds are awake here.

Beings as you stated that wolf was collared, the hunter had to have noticed it. NO HUNTER that I personally know would shoot any animal that was collared, tagged, branded, nadda. I doubt seriously he felt any pangs until he was found out and it was made public. I might be wrong about him, but I'll stay wrong regardless of the circumstances around the case. I can't bring myself to Google the story. I don't like things such as that. So I'll rely on you all to tell me if I'm wrong about him and he shot it by mistake. I still say he had to have seen the collar.. Specifically if he was using a scope. Even though my shotgun has a scope on it, I've NEVER killed a living creature with it. Never been hungry enough or broke enough to have to. But I can still see a fly on a tree with that scope, so you'll have a hard time convincing me that he was clueless.
I can't watch hunting shows on t.v. either. Even "The Swamp People" was too much for me. Killing those gators in their own habitat with baits and trot lines just hurts my heart to the core. Gators that far back into the wilds of the bayous are NOT a threat to humanity. Go after the ones that stray too close and become RUINED because idiots illegally feed them for a thrill, thinking it's "cool"...
God bless that wolfs spirit as it makes his way back home to the Creator.
Human beings. They strike again.
I don't watch those shows either, except that I will occasionally tune in to Call of the Wild featuring Turtle Man. He's a local guy who is really very kind and considerate to all. People in the town don't like it because it portrays them as "redneck". Turtle man is just country and very unique. He has done very well for himself financially. He is still a very humble guy and makes time for the kids when they see him. He does overdramatize his exploits, but he's O.K. in my book. Believe it or not, he made it to Fox network this morning. I'll bet that a lot of the naysaying locals have not been to all the places he has recently. LOL. By the way, he really loves all animals and has been relocating them to safe places for years. My pond is overloaded with snapping turtles. I may call him over one day. People who have volunteered to get them out want to eat them. I say, "Not my turtles."

Good morning. There is a heavy frost out there this morning, things look iced over. I guess it's about time to put the mickey thompsons on the jeep and store the street tires until spring.
The three stooges are scratching around outside looking for anything to eat, they will have to wait until this pot of java is gone.

Have a nice day, peace out.

Yes, hopefully AW. LOL. People need to put the pencil to the paper. I found this out when my mom was living. She had Medicare and an outrageous secondary ins. that just kept increasing. She told me one day it had gone up again. I found it would be cheaper to drop it and pay the 20% Medicare out of her own pocket. That it was. When my Company retirement insurance benefits ran out, that's exactly what I did.
Oh, AW I will be getting a $16.00 raise on my crazy check in 2013. I'm not jumping to high yet, no telling how much Medicare will increase. Maybe I'll have enough to buy a 13 oz. can of coffee at the Dollar Store. Dang that Southgate and Wolf Brand chili though. Nasty.
My check went up by $18.00. I guess that I am wealthier than you, LOL. I don't get a crazy check, though. I hear that it is easier to get than physical disability. Guess the government knows that it is driving people crazy. However, Part B Medicare is going up next year, so that takes care of the big raise. I have kept a Medicare Supplement insurance policy. Costs a lot, but it pays for all deductibles, 20% copay, etc. I was really glad that I had it last spring and summer or I would be up shizz creek without the paddle. Medical bills are SO expensive. One of the medications that I needed to cure a rare infection cost $1600.00 a week. I needed 2 weeks' supply. By the time the second week came around, though, I only had to pay $77.00 because I fell into the"catastrophic" category. It would have been a catastrophy if I had to pay the entire amount. Either that or plant myself 6 feet under.

I don't have a letter yet and don't know what I will get after Part B increases, or if I will get anything or come out in the hole. I don't have a supplement, I guess my military time is still worth a little something.

(NOT the vulgar parts though Imposter. Not those parts where you hated me. But Toots was cool.. It reminded me of the old days before I got so broken down and started falling apart physically. It took me back to the days when I was still partying my tail off and was out there riding every day, wearing the concrete right off the roads, lol).
:)
I don't hate anyone toots,(Una first gave you that moniker not me). I was only trying to get a rise out of you.
I think the meanis is going to blow me up if I don't let it out soon.

I agree AW, my mom's sub-insurance pays good! If she hadn't had it this past year she probably would have lost her house and land paying all the bills! It is well worth it even if it is expensive. I have no idea of yalls financial situation but you might be able to get your medicare deductable paid and even get a small amout of food stamps. I have been meaning to see if my mom qualifies. And even if you get on a program that pays all of your medical expenses, don't give up your sub-insurance if you can possibly keep it. I remember that medicare was only going to allow a certain amout of days for rehab then she would have had to went to a nursing home to get it. But with her insurance she had like an extra 200 days or something, can't remember the exact numbers. I was sooo glad we hadn't dropped her sub-insurance!
Also, you guys may qualify for senior commodities. You don't get a bunch of "great" food but it would help fill in. Take advantage of everthing you can get, you deserve it!

Today we will see 12/12/12 at 12:12:12 for the last time over a hundred years. When they use this thread in a hundred years from now, on their hologramed personal interactive social construct they will be discussing glow in the dark featherless birds with one eye feeding at their bio protien pads and wondering how they ever flew in the skys back in 12/12/12. Things may go the other way, there may be genetic altered six legged chickens that can out run an ethiopian from a dead start. More legs, it's a good thing.

@W KY Girl. THe ones circiling are most likely vultures or buzzards and are usually black in color. They ride the wind updrafts looking for dead stuff and only flap their wings when needed to catch the next updraft and can circle for hours. If they have alit on the ground to eat road kill or such, don't get close to them. Their natural defense is to puke on you and can shoot puke for several yards. LOL Little birds are not frightened by them. If you are out on your lawn, don't lay idle too long on the grass. They might think you are on the memu. LOL Just kidding.
Hawks are more straight line "fast wing" flyers just going from the top of one dead tree to the next. They will be smaller than the buzzards and are typically a grayish-white. They sit in the top of the dead trees looking for field mice and such. If crows or other birds are chasing, they are most likely hawks.

Dang it, now I'm going to have to quit all my nude sunbathing! lol Thanks for the information, that is kind of what I was thinking. Ewww bird puke! Even worse, road kill puke! lol I can just imagine the smell, oh that made my stomach kind of flop a little bit. LOL Even if they do eat road kill, they are still beautiful to watch. They just float around up their forever! Our place is in direct line of somewhere they go every day. They can be seen pretty much daily. I haven't seen many crows around here at all. I wish some of them would move in. I'd like to have a pet crow. I've always heard that you can teach them to repeat words. Yesterday I moved a bird feeder in front of my security camera. I hope they find it today!

And BY THE WAY, about this woman friend. Does dog approve of this? I'm not so sure I do!:( Just kidding, I'm glad to hear it.:)

The Veteran's has several levels of qualifying and I am on the low end of the totem pole with no wounds or disabilities, so I mainly get preventive care that still costs $15 a visit and $50 for specialty things like eye exams or dermatology.

My insurance paid the first 100 days of skilled nursing after a deductible and we did not even qualify for Medicare for the nearly 2 years that the wife spent in the nursing facility. So that was out-of-pocket except for the first 100 days. I did not even know there was such a thing as extended care insurance back then and probably could not have afforded it anyways since the company had already gone belly up and I was just working part time with no benefits.

The poor wife worked most of her life and got 3 small social security checks and then the $255 death benefit that really helped on the $7000 funeral (NOT).

AW, if you can afford it at all I would advise you getting one of those subs. They pay good. There is a guy that takes care of my mom's insurance that goes all over the state. He doesn't work for just one company. He will look at all the companies and find you the best and most reasonable for you. After that first 100 days Medicare pays of skilled nursing, my mom's insurance will cover another 200 days. And anything that Medicare pays on, it will cover all of what Medicare didn't pay, including deductibles. And don't forget the drug plan. My mom would be up the creek without it!

Ohhh Virgoan, there's nothing to worry about. Nothing happens that God doesn't approve first. He is in control of all! Even if something bad were to happen, God is good and he can take care of all of us.:) But let me tell you this, if nothing happens on the 21st, I can assure you that ONE DAY something big and bad is going to happen and if you don't know Jesus Christ you are going to wish you had of known Him in advance.
Take care.:)

I can't afford it after spending nearly everything I had on her nursing care when my health insurance expired after the company went belly up and I was under-employed.

If it gets to where Medicare or the Veteran's don't take care of me; I will just croak and go be with Jesus and they can put on my stone "He enjoyed life while it lasted". I won't go to be a vegetable. I prefer the QUALITY of life over QUANTITY.
