Very cool Q,

The detail is awesome, I think the only one I recognized is Honeysuckle?
What is the small orange colored one, lady slipper?

Thanks for sharing.

Pocket Field Guide to Kentucky’s Wildflowers and Native Grasses.

Your pics puts this book to shame.

Thought you might enjoy the book though if you don't already have it.

I posted this under simple things in life. Meant for it to go here, been hard to think lately, dealing w/RA, pain is sometimes overwhelming.

These are all beautiful pics in the link below, however, what amazes me most is you shots bring the flowers to life. I feel as if I could reach out & hold it in my hand. When you look at the ones in the link, they don't look real, except for a couple. They look artificial even though they are beautiful.

Your pics make me feel like I am in the cool woods, nothing but the quite sound of nature & the beautiful colors of flowers all around, no stress just at peace.

Your wife, friends & family as well as us viewers are fortunate to someone like you share the beauty all around us that we would never see without the pictures.

Wel, that's one of the nicest replies I have ever gotten and I appre the thought...

I shoot a lot of different stuff that we run across along the way when we go sight seeing the country side, I do like the small stuff most really never stop to notice but I also like to capture the big stuff also...

I do understand the pain thing as I also have some pretty bad days with old wounds that have started to catch up with me over the last few years so taking photos of the Kentucky I love does focus the mind and allows to not focus on those pains... I started taking Kentucky photos back several years ago to promote our little piece of the world so those around the world can take a look and maybe stop and visit someday because they saw a photo that caught their eyes...

As of yesterday I have had over 250,000 views of my photos in the Google Earth Mapping system in the last 6 months and the photos are used by over 100 web sites and city guides around the world...

I started this thread for some of the flower shots but if you want to view more of the general photos here a Slide Show format of the latest shots if you have a few... Wish you and yours the best of days....

My husband set me up in Keynote with a LOT of you pics to use as a slide show for those times when I'm visiting somewhere & no service to internet. Your show is bookmarked. Have a great day & please keep sharing with us all.

Somehow I missed this batch, do you know what the 3rd flower is? Really cool.
I have no idea... Like most the flowers I just see em and snap em.. On some later I look through the online flower lists and see if I can find them and then will add the Latin names if I can find them but for most when I snap them I haven't a clue what they are... But glad ya like em...

Like them all, what is the last one, looks like an orchid with stickers.
My fav. out of this bunch.
Those I almost missed altogether... I stopped along 11 on the way to Manchester to take the Yellow flowers and got back in the car and started to leave and saw a tiny blue flower close to the ground and in the weeds... stopped and took this shot ..again..haven't a clue what it is... thanks for the interest....
