I have been saying it for years.... Everyone needs to have a 6 months supply of nonperishable food and water, several kerosine lamps and a wood or coal heating source... Along with a minimum of 3 firearms and as much ammo as you can stockpile... A .22 rimfire, a 12 gauge and a high powered rifle... at minimum... If life goes on as normal you have stuff set aside so no big deal.... If any of a 1000 things goes belly up (Sun Spots, Economic fail, earth quake, Alien Invasion or what ever) You have a period of time to survive until you can learn to deal with the new conditions of life... My rule is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it....

You people act like a bunch of fools. The second amendment does not say what kind of "arms" you are allowed to have. There is no way our forefathers could have known what guns would be capable of doing in 2013. If they had a magic ball and could see 2013 I'm sure they would have made things A LOT different. If you think you need a gun to protect yourself against the government then you are all kinds of crazy. If the "government" wanted to harm the people there in no gun that will help you. You are completely defenceless, they could take us all out within minutes.
You know I agree with the technology they have. But that technology is in the hands of The American Armed Forces. And if the government ordered those AMERICAN Forces to turn on Americans ( their wives, children, parents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, their churches, their neighbors, their communities) there would be so many that would stand with Americans and bring technologies to add to the 300 million guns already in American's hands. And this folks is why we have the 2nd Amendment.

The day they try and take our guns is the day that America shows this government that this is our country, and we will not sit here and let this happen. There are too many soldiers who have gave there lives to defend our rights! And we the people, will not let them die in vain, we will fight!! There will be war! We might lose, we might win, but Obama will know, he is not going to force America to live by his beliefs.

President Obama taught constitutional law, I think he could understand the constitution better than most, especially better than someone from a hollow in Barbourville Ky, who is probably high school dropout and hasn't been out of the state more than a few times in their whole life. Do you actually think you know more about the constitution then the President? If you do then that just shows how ignorant you really are!
Well he has forgot the second ammendment right to bare arms? and who are you some one from the prodjects that got a college grant and went to school and drivre a pontiac? I got enough common sense to know better then that every law abiding citizen in the United States should loose there guns? and I do care about my country do you?

You people are some of the most ignorant I have ever seen in my life. It doesn't say anywhere in the constitution that nut balls like yourselves should have assault rifles and armor piercing bullets.

I doesn't say anywhere in the Constitution that you should be able to have a computer to get on and make a fool out of yourself with either... But here you are.... It said you have Freedom of Speech... At a time when you had to use a Quill and Ink or own your own printing press and pass out your Stupid remarks by hand...

People who support and/or agree with an administration that's attempting to disarm the American people while they are sending F-16's to Morsi in Egypt are the ignorant nut balls.

That's where you are wrong. You don't have freedom of speech on the internet. Just because you go on Topix and spew your drivel Q doesn't mean that its your right. That's a privilege. Topix can shut you up in a second if they wanted to and it doesn't go against your rights in any way. The people who own the websites you post on can deny you at anytime. Freedom of speech is pretty cut and dry. When people start killing 20 kids in a school or patrons at a movie theater with freedom of speech then i'm sure there will be freedom of speech control. ;) You do know that it is against the law to run into a crowed place and scream fire don't you? Every right we have has its limits. This is a free country but you are not allowed to do a lot of things that will hurt other people. Why can't you get that through your think skull??

No one is taking your guns away. They are trying to stop innocent people from being killed. If that means people can't buy assault rifles and armour piercing bullets so be it.

Another idiotic based post because I can post on a 1000 different media sources, I can use a lap top, a desk top, a cell phone, write a letter, make a poster, print a pamphlet and do just fine and by the looks of it you would still not have the mental ability to understand the Point...

There have been Many people that due to Free Speech have been killed... Free Speech has cause many time more deaths than so called assault rifle with HiCap Mags...(is 2011 only around 50 people were killed by such weapons) but during that same time 1,692 people were killed with knives and over 400 killed with Hands and Feed and odds are that a lot of those killings were because someone exercised their freedom of Speech...

But to the Point I made Before... I'll go slow you you since it's obvious you have a comprehension problem.

The 1st Amendment protects your freedom of speech... It does so not because you say nice things... It does so to allow you to say things that piss people off... When the 1st was written the Technology to exercise that right was very, very basic... Pen, stand on the corner and yell, print a pamphlet on a hand cranked press.... The 1st Did not say what technology to come mattered... It was the Ability to exercise that Right that was protected...

The 2nd Amendment protects your freedom to Bare Arms and have the arms to be Well Regulated in their usage... It does so not because you use it for any particular purpose... It does so to allow you to use it as You see fit... When the 2nd was written the Technology to exercise that right was very, very basic... Flintlock Musket, smooth bore cannon, Flintlock pistol.... The 2nd Did not say what technology to come mattered... It was the Ability to exercise that Right that was protected...

And Yes Every Protected Right we have has Responsibility that the Individual be held for account when they exercise those rights... But to Take away a Right so it cannot be exercised and take responsibility for requires a Constitutional Amendment and Ratification by 3/4 of the states...

No saying you will understand as from your post you haven't shown that rational thought and education into our founding documents is your forte but I tried to use small words just for you....

Ok.. lets get this straight... You have no problem with 1,692 homicides with Knives, No problem with 356 killed by Shotguns, 496 by Hammers, 726 by fists and hands, 75 by fire... But 50 killed with rifles that fall under the definitions of so called Assault Weapons is the problem and you want to take away the Millions of Legally owned fire arms that have never been involved in a crime....

Now you add so called Armour Piercing bullets... Never mind that a .223 armor piercing is less lethal than a .223 hollow point on the human body and a standard issue Vest will not stop either round... Unless you are speaking of Hand Gun rounds...

Lets consider that it is Legal to buy Kevlar by Bad Guys... And as a Legal Gun owner I think You should be held accountable if a Bad guy with body armor kills a Good guy with rounds you force him to use that don't stop the Bad guy from killing the good guy and his family...

Quantummist, we can't make people like that understand what is happening in this world. The forest is burning down behind them while they spend their time cleaning the weeds away from the poor little wilting sapling thats about to be engulfed by flames. And they are going to get burned too. Like a lamb to the slaughter.

Look at NYC and this administration wants to emulate NYC. If we let this happen it is just a matter of time before they take another step towards banning. What needs to be banned is criminals using a gun or any other form of violent crimes against society instead of rotating them through the system and back on the streets. What needs to be banned is an administration who chooses to infringe upon the 2nd ammendment rights of Americans.

Us peon's lives are not as worthy as the more elite.
"Mrs. Feinstein's measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel,"

You have drank the kool aid. They are not trying to stop people from being killed they are trying to take your freedom a little at a time but you are to blind to see it. More innocent people were killed by bicycles than by so called assault rifles in the US. Why don't you do some research.
