I was just told this morning that the mayor and city council were going to charge adults 10.00 and children 8.00 and were going to charge 2.00 for a pepsi I know that's double price on the drinks I always thought this was a park for the local people but this year it will be out of reach for many or we are going to have to ask the school board to pay teachers more .
interesting

Interesting, but if that amount is needed to keep the water park viable WITHOUT any double dealing and dishonest shifting of resources, then the increase is justified.

This is another dirty deed of the city's new leadership because that park has been ran for years but now it can't run without raising the prices it's easy to see that someone is needing more money to line their pockets with .
Just the facts

Now that you have city council members that have been arrested or been investigated by law enforcement what do you really expect .

Maybe the ex-mayor will stand outside the gate giving out 10 dollar bills, only this time let them be out of his pocket and not the communities.

Do you think the council cares what teachers think when they don't care about the kids on sport teams .

Quit looking at the city for a handout and get your school bd to build you one just like every other school district in the state.

Please God...please Lord tell me that after 20+ posts bashing the new mayor/council since the demise of the previous regime, that these people on topics are able to use common sense to figure out where this is all coming from.

Maybe Union should just close the waterpark because they own it. Or better yet maybe Union should charge the city for the park.

A town hall should be called and the city council should bring the records and plans showing the viability of the raises. This will knock a lot of people out of coming to the park altogether and some will make fewer trips. As a business person I hope they thought this through since they may lose more in the long run. The only theory that makes sense is that they are trying to recoop the losses from the previous Mayor.
Not worth it

The Barbourville water park is not worth an increase in price they are not offering anything more for the price hike..it is already too crowded when they have free days..what a joke
