I hope that you enjoy it while they are young. When they get to the 9/10 yr olds and even older this town is so political that you can't enjoy it for all the daddy's that are trying to make sure "little Johnny" makes the all stars so they a can say that their child got to make a small town all star team. Before anyone comes back and says that I am just mad cause my "little Johnny" didn't make the all stars. My son is no longer in little league, but he made the team all 4 years. I can't believe that some of the adults in this town can lay down and sleep at night knowing that they didn't care for anyones feelings but their own. But all you can say is that is Knox County and that is the way things are around here. We don't put the best on the floor or the field we do what is best for the ones in the "clique". That is why when you go somehwere else people are always making fun of Knox Coutians.

whiny wee ball parents have caused my daughter to miss 2 games because parents who think they are in charge of everything play the games even when they are announced as cancelled or an hour before they are scheduled to start they just play anyway. I would never play in a game before the time on the schedule and risk hurting the feelings of a little kid. but these knox county wee ball parents are selfish jerks.

You better let them play while they are little because like the person that is stating the facts it's all about being in "the clique." My son is one of the best athletes in the little league but because the board doesn't care for his mom and dad he is treated unfairly. I'm fed up with it. If it weren't for him enjoying the game so much I would not allow him to play. But why should he suffer because of a bunch of idiots that don't know how to run the league and will not allow the public to get involved because they have something to hide. Everyone needs to get together and do something about it, so that the kids don't have to suffer anymore. MY advice to you would get them out of Knox County and take them either to Corbin or London.

Is it just me, but parents who were not (good) athletes when they were younger tend to be the ones who get the most worked up about getting their kids into sports. The further you progress in athletics, the better and tougher the competition gets. And when you get an up close look at great athletes, you come away thinking,"Wow! I'm never going to be that good." And you start studying harder in school. When you have kids yourself, you want them to play and enjoy it, but you don't get tore up over it. You just want them to make good grades.

Why do you want to hide behind your computer screen? We all know who you are. You have been whinning now ever since your child has been in the program. You have so much negativity about the board why don't you put your name on her. Stop hiding behind your ignorance.

I think that this person has a point. If we all took the time to educate ourselves and ask questions we probably wouldn't want to know the answers. We have had more games rescheduled and cancelled because our Little League doesn't have the proper equipment to maintain the field. You can't tell me that they don't make an absolute killing from all of the sponsors and sign up fees that are paid each year. The uniforms are not that expensive and the only fee they have is for the umpires..do the math. I wish that we would all stop hiding behind computers and talking to one another and stand up for our children and our community. We as adults need to do what's best for our children and doing nothing is not what's right. If our little "Johnny's" do make it for all stars we won't be able to compete with other teams because we've barely played any games. We shouldn't live with regrets, but as we all know if you ask questions then you will be ostricized and the only person that pays the price is your child.

Is they still taking kids? My son is 5 and I wasn't aware sign ups were that early?
