I have had internert service thru BUC for several years now until recently I have never had a problem in the last 2 weeks my internet has been down a total of 7 days. Their customer service is the worst I have seen.
So what have you done

What have you done to solve the problem? First have you called BUC? Amazing how many people will complain without calling to report a problem.

I called them over TV problems last year. They replaced some cable which improved the situation but didn't solve it. They returned and put in a new drop. In doing so, they found the drop coming in had a cut in the cable coating. Problem solved. No customer service issue at all.

Have you considered your equipment being the problem? I had an Ethernet cable go bad a couple years ago. Replaced it and problem solved. Just recently had a wireless router go bad all of a sudden. Replaced it and no more problems. Modems go bad too but that's BUC equipment. Again, have you called them?

Yes, I am having the same problems and its not just the internet my phone line has so much static on it I cant hear.

Mine has been acting up for a while also (BUC) I think it is just the service is having issues. It knocks me off the internet a lot and sometimes does not work at all. Prior to the
last few weeks I have had great service with them.
So what have you done

Telephone and cable are two different companies so blaming your telephone issues on BUC is a waste of time. "the service sucks" doesn't say why and for all of you, the same questions to you as the original poster? Have you called them and have you checked your equipment.

Only thing I have noticed the past couple of months is two instances of DNS server errors and that is BUC. First issue of DNS error coincided with my router going bad leading me to think it was a BUC issue until I decided to bypass the router and things cleared up immediately.

BUC has switched its source of internet for most of the town to Windstream. It was from AT&T before. Windstream doesn't have the infrastructure to support its own customers, much less BUC. There is your problem. Cheaper service for them, at that same price for us.

our BUC server was located in lexington before,now the windstream server for our service is located in kansas city Mo.

actually all you need to do is check your IP address, which for most people was just switched to 40.xx.xx from the old IP's 129.xx.xx. The new range of IP addresses belong to Windstream. I don't work for BUC, I just have half a brain.

windstream is pretty lenient about their users pirating stuff.
which is why i dont really mind the slightly lower quality of service.those are the advantages of having a static IP

Barbourville Online is a joke. A complete month without service.

D/L speed = 0.4 mbs
U/L speed = 0.02 mbs
Ping = 500 + ms

I wish we could get Time Warner or Verizon Internet in our area. Sucks having no options. Sucks paying and getting no internet too.
