No not even JM can explain it to you. As I recall it was $150,000. 75,000 and the other 75,000. was due in December of the same year. According to the paper it was signed over to union then reassigned back to Fiscal Court.
,so someone could qualify for the Brownsfield's project, which was free money for chemical clean up. Also we are suppost to have a large meeting room for the county to use for meeting's.
To me the old hospital was perfect for the sheriff's office and jail. Make's no commom sence at all to sell property for &150,000. and then when some one need's money and the fiscal court purchase's a building from Charlie Greene for $175,000. for the sheriff's office. Keep in mind this building is falling down. go sit in a chair and see how quick your chair start's moving. FISHEY is a very small word to use for all that goes on in this county. I would and do not trust the fiscal court now as far as I can spit.

i'm not sure what that means but seem's like we haven't been forgiven of the debt yet! i think they should have took the money they made from the old knox county hospital and put it to use for the new one to help pay it off just my input ! very fishy it does sound i agree!

Very informative, thank you. When I heard J.M. say forgive the debt I almost stood up and asked him to clarify what he meant, now I wish I had. After I thought about it I realized there was room for misdealings in what he said. I'm not saying anyone did anything wrong but it looked to me they could have, had they wanted.

yes those buildings that the sheriff's office are in is in need of repair a few of those buildings on that one side of the courthouse needs some upgrades i have contacted them about this also they keep telling me they will check into it only time will tell i guess they seem to waste alot of money on useless things

Well this how JM operates once a School Bus Driver always one We need a person Qualified to run this county and Qualified to make Financial decisions benefiting the county,,.This why we are in the mess with the Hospital $6 million and now $28 million and climbing throw him out the tax payers cant handle much more.

You are correct this whole county should be wet. Let the whole county vote,not just the town. Totally ironic that part of the county is wet,other part dry.

For one where is our tax money going????? The hospittle is going under the courthouse is falling in the jail continusley need money we are all the time getting grants to fix these things but it never gets fixed

the newspaper was incorrect. the tax is going to be a share of the other facilities that receive the tax money already. It was voted on by the places that already receive the money to give a part to the hospital. it is not a new tax. I wish the media didn't look for ways to stir up crap! It may not be a Baptist health or a st joe's but may be the difference in surviving a heart attack or dying on your way to a bigger facility before any initial treatment. to me I'd say survival is better.

thank you another opinion!:) the media is always doing something to stir up! i do agree with inez around the courthouse alot of places need some work ! i contacted the tourism commish about this because i no they uselly do some work downtown i told them that is the place they need to focus on they thank me for my ideal and said they would work on ways to improve but who knows in this town sometimes it takes a year or 2 to get things done!

the hospital should be sold and cut the loss. they will never get out of this hospital debt on their own. there is not anyone in barbourville who is qualified to financially and efficently run a hospital. this hospital is needed but should be sold to a large chain like st joe or baptist. put a for sale sign in the yard asap before the tax is rammed down our throats and we will still have a poorly managed and going broke hospital to deal with.

The Twig will hand 50.00 to JM Hall every month as long as he stays in office along with every other household will do ! JM Hall is untouchable!! At least they know what my opinions are. Maybe one day the people of this county will pull their heads out of the sand and attend the fiscal court meetings. J.M. and his Kangaroo court wouldn't have so much power then. They do what they want because the people of knox county wont attend the meetings the laws of this state provide for them. When theres no one to say no politicians have free reign.
