looking for answers at anyone in this area that specializes in treating adhd or doctors that treat it. have had it for years, yet to be diagnosed but need some kind of medicine to help me deal with my symptoms. they have pretty much wrecked my life for the past 10 years or so. thanks for any help!

I don't think anyone around here will/can help. There are some good books out there. I know it's hard to read with adhd and understand what you have read without going over it few times. If you find the right book(s) you will find some good advice and tips to help manage your symptoms.

I know this sounds stupid. Try reading out loud, maybe 2 or 3 times. You have to have no background noise or distractions. I feel like I've had it along time but have no dr or previous diagnosis. I haven't worked for 9 years and barely leave the house. I zone out when listening to conversations or watching TV. You feel like a hypochondriac trying to explain yourself so you just turn inward. I'm sorry I don't have any dr recommendations. Maybe this will help with your reading. Good luck.

You're just lazy. There's no such thing as ADHD. You can concentrate enough to call somebodies answer to your post stupid and to be on here.

I am legit a therapist. I need some input though, how old are you?

If you want medication for it, you need to see a psychiatrist. There are several in the area. You can see Dr. Vasquez ( 6 0 6 ) 8 7 8 - 1 9 6 1 in London, or Dr. Barbosa at the Capers clinic (6 0 6) 5 2 6 - 6 7 2 6.

The symptoms associated with ADHD are the inability to concentrate, hyperactivity, and sometimes an impulsive nature. Therapy can help, and you should consider it in addition to any medications.

Typical medications are Adderal, Concerta, etc. They are stimulants, that speed up your brain's ability to focus. This will allow you to be less hyper as a result also.

One thing you should consider is that medications will not help you with behavioral problems. There is no magic pill that will "make you be good".
