Have you known a seller to take your payment and not ship the item? If so is your money refunded from e-bay? I'm new to this and was wondering.

If you pay through paypal your purchase is guarnteed. You file a claim if you haven't received your item. If after they research the item was never sent paypal refunds the purchase to your paypal account. I buy from ebay all the time and have never had a problem. I always buy fron the US only and make sure the seller has a high feedback percentage. I also never buy from someone new to ebay. I just don't like to take that chance.

I paid with pay pal. The seller is new to e-bay :( What makes me nervous is that the auction wasn't suppose to have ended for 4 days and after I bid (I being the only bidder) I won. Can the seller cancel the auction like that? How does that work?

Maybe they don't know what they're doing either lol. Have you tried to contact them?

It says the item has been shipped via USPS but when I enter the tracking number it says it cannot be tracked using USPS website. This is my luck

When was it shipped and where is it coming from? Sometimes you can't track it until it gets to the post office for delivery confirmation.

That's nothing to worry about really, most of the time at least in my experience when the seller ships USPS it won't show up on the tracking page until the package has been delivered.

If you paid through paypal you have to wait until four days after the last date that it was due to arrive to open a complaint. I have had the same problems with different sellers. Sometimes the tracking number doesn't show up on the scanner that the post office uses because of any number of things. If the seller printed the shipping label at home then the bar code might not be dark enough for the scanner to read. In fact I have the same problem that you are having. I bought an item from a seller with 4400 feedbacks and it was due no later then yesterday. I contacted the seller but I can't file a complaint until Monday. The seller might not have shipped it yet. Your best bet is to contact the seller then contact Ebay with a complaint. Paypal is owned by Ebay so they work hand in hand.

Did you get an invoice from ebay to pay for the item? Did you pay the seller before the auction was over? Sometimes people end an item early for different reasons. Did Ebay send you an email saying that you won or did the seller send you one? You should never pay for an item unless you get that email from Ebay. A lot of scammers out there.

I thought about the home printed shipping label. I'm gonna give it a few days then see what can be done.

I got a invoice from e-bay I've had no contact with the seller. I paid after the auction was over and it said I won. It shocked me cause it had 4 days left and I was the only bidder...

It sounds kind of fishy if the auction wasn't over. I hope you aren't out a lot of money. But, the good news is if you paid through Paypal you can get your money back.

Another thing that can happen if the seller is new that they didn't use Ebays notification system and typed the tracking number in themselves and got a number out of place. That has happened to me before so hang in there,it could just show up tomorrow or Monday.

It sounds like you did buy it now. If you do that you win and the item is sold no matter how many days were left.

If you paid through Paypal your covered, just have to give some time before you place a claim but would start by sending the seller a nice note just asking status of the items since it is not showing up on tracking... Keep a Copy of all correspondence... After a week send another note to the seller and be a bit more direct but not mean or nasty... If after a couple weeks you get no reply or no item then send a note stating they have 24 hours to contact you to resolve the problem or a claim will be made through Ebay/Paypal... Do Not wait more then 30 days to make a claim ...

I have bought and sold 100's of items through ebay and have two rules... and one Sometimes Rule..

1. Never buy from anyone with less than 25 transactions...

2. Never buy from anyone with less than 99.1% positive ratings....

and except on Rare Occasions only buy from sellers inside the United States....

By the way out of over 600 transactions I have had only 1 item I had to file a claim on and Paypal returned my money in a week.... And one other purchase where the seller stated the package was shipped but I never got it... But he refunded my money within a couple of hours...

That is right. I rarely do buy it now unless it is a super deal. I buy and sell toys from the 1940s through the 1960s. Sometimes there might be one or two that is a real bargain. Most people think they have a piece of gold when it's just junk.
