Cheaper to buy a gasket and have it repaired then to have a cracked head replaced.

Yep. you can drive it far enough to get the gasket, not much more.

got to epps and ask for liquid glass head gasget repair fallow instructions carefully that stuff is very powerfull if you dont rinse it out like it says to it can stop up your motor I have repaired numberous head gaskets with this stop leak but like i said fallow instrctions carefully and do just what it says i think after u run it u flush it out leave the cap off radiator take off hoses let air dry threw the motor over nite fill it back with water and it will be fixed try it its like $14.00s well worth tryin before replacein the head gasket it has worked for me on many cars

Just get the gasket and replace it. That will be a permanent fix and not a temporary one! And if you do this easy fix, when you do have to replace the gasket, and it's inevitable that you will, the inside of the engine will be so gunked up you will have to pay more to get that junk out of there. Just stick to the gasket.

What kind of car do you have? My husbands a mechanic and can fix it for you without costing you a arm and leg. I would NOT use the liquid stuff to try and fix it. That'd just cause more problems.

ITS a '96 ford tarus 6.0 v6. It started to get hot one day and knocking...we checked the water and it was almost dry. It runs fine...but as it runs it starts to blow white smoke. We only bought it a few months ago and it was ok...the fluid levels were good...but then friday it got dry and the water was almost empty.

I love the car and would love to fix it.

actually I have found myself in desperate need of $800 so we are gonna go ahead and sell the car. Other then the white smoke comin' outta the tail pipe its an excelent little care. I just need the money of a job i want and I have to pay off some creditors with it....and NO its not drugs.

read the bottle carefully and do what it say you flush out the radiator and then you take off the radiator hoses so air will blow threw the engine and air dry the sealer and reseal the gasket it is very powerful gasket sealer and you will see the water to start to clear up and watch it start workin then u let the car run as long as it says to shut the car off drain the radiator flush it out like stick a water hose in were the radiator cap goes and let it run threw the system for like 10min. then take the top and bottum hoses off let air dry and form the gasket trust me this stuff work you will see a diff.in min.until the car is fixed it might take a fewer mins long for all the water to steam out but u will see let me know what ya think after ya fix ya car

Thanks for the info! I've been driving around with a broken head, so I figure it's about time that I do some head gasket repair. I found a website that looks promising: http://www.seal-a-head.com What do you guys think?

How much would your husband charge? I live in Dickson, Tn but as long as i keep coolant in it, it's doing ok.

If it has got too hot it has melted seals and gaskets and will never run right again. May be a crusher prospect! They can bring several hundred dollars I hear!
