I was wondering if the petition that was being made is ready for voters to pass around I think it is a good thing that is being done as they were responsible for things and Wilma did admit that she knew things were wrong for years and williams didn't know about anything .
Oh yes

This town is full of talkers that don't do anything else. All they do id complain but never have the answers as how to fix a problem except to "throw them out". If you throw everybody that is in office out, who will run the town and make descisions on what needs to be done. You? The majority never paid attention in class as to how things work, or you just skipped classes to get stoned and screw. Depending on what your name is , that is a deciding factor as to what you will be in the grand scheme of things. People that had parents that held offices or owned a business are the people that run this town. The parents had the foresight to make sure that their kids attended school and got good grades. Education is everything but you idiots just want to party and go to the mailbox to get paid. You choose to stand in line to get your foodstamps or card. You choose to be nothing and you get the full support of your nothing friends and your nothing parents. Untill you break this cycle nothing is going to change except the faces of people that you have to take orders from.

in a general sense what you say is true and I agree, but we are talking about just the city . The city schools dont fall in the bottom 10% of everything the way the county schools do . Parents raising their kids to follow in their footsteps or to take over the family business isnt bad .. in a general sense .. the problem here is that local politics is considered a family business, there isnt a single elected office that someone hasnt appointed a family member to a position or created a job for. If the council would amend the city charter or constitution or whatever we have to end nepotism it would be the beginning of a new future and a step towards progress .. not an anchor to hold the city captive in the past.

Barbourville City Council members held the second reading of a budget amendment during a special-called meeting Thursday — with no one there to hear it.
And after the reading — council members unanimously approved the amendment, according to Mayor Darren West.
Council member Gary Williams motioned to approve the amendment, with a second from Council member Sherman Lawson, he said.
The city’s annual budget has seen several increases and decreases in recent weeks and months — including the sale of the former Knox County Health Department building, a decrease in property tax collections, the cashing in of the city’s $100,000 general fund CD, and an increase in spending in most departments, according to the proposed ordinance.
The vote to cash in that CD happened during the April 11 regular city council meeting. Council members agreed those monies be split in half —$50,000 to fix the current budget, and the remaining $50,000 reinvested into another CD. According to the ordinance, the total receipts and revenues, which equals total revenues and cash, has now been increased from $5,009,408 to $5,102,773. The specific departmental appropriations and their changes are as follows:— Administration,$2,080,960 increased to $2,177,305 —
Barbourville Police Department,$1,366,100 decreased to $1,347,006; Street Department,$807,500 decreased to $778,400; — Barbourville Fire Department,$131,315 decreased to $130,215;
Recreation Fund,$301,750 increased to $335,914;
Tourist and Recreation Fund,$321,783 increased to $333,933.

No other action was taken during the special meeting.- See more at: http://www.thetimestribune.com/local/x4934673...

It looks like they have figured out the mistakes that they have made after they were read the report from the auditors at the last meeting of no significant findings once again even though they did try to get them to say something wasn't right Moore and Williams were just shot down by auditors .Moore just sit there dumbfounded and red faced and the others were likewise upset .

I agree wholeheartedly. I was simply trying to get the others to realize why things are the way they are. The govt. is trying to dummy down all the students in all areas. The computer language and abbreviations have become commonplace and spelling isn't important anymore. The same goes for math. If you have a reason that explains why you came up with 2+2=7 then you haven'tgiven a wrong answer, just a different one. In future tests there will be no wrong answers or negative marks on school assignments because that makes a student not feel good about themself. This country just gave away 85,000 jobs to workers that will be here on permanent work visas. The reason given for this is because Americans won't work the lower paying jobs and are not qualified for the more technical jobs. If someone doesn't get wise to what is happening right now, then there will be no jobs for Americans at all. Sure,there will still be the ones that already own their own businesses and pass them down to family but other than that we are in deep doo doo with no way out. Parents need to start making sure that their kids are being educated and not just showing up for classes to keep getting the tax breaks or their monthly checks. It goes for city as well as county. Education is all that will help this country right now.. By the way, I have no problem with family businesses being passed from one generation to the next, but look at how many have disappeared just in this town in the past few years. Drugs are taking over and that leads to money being spent on the drugs and hookers instead of being spent on family and your surroundings.
