I was sitting in church on Wednesday evening.
As I overheard a conversation amongest three ladies.
One of the ladies made a rude comment to another church member toward their appearance. I was under the impression if you were a member of any church you were considered family. However, I'm sure my family would never intenitally embarass me in such a way. For someone who doesn't attend church regulalyr, for instance, myself. The comment was very discouraging. Especially, because this lady was a very kind, gentle hearted woman. I was just curious if this is a regular occurance in every Knox County church or just this particular one. I don't wish to mention any names, thank you.

Hello i dont want that to discourage you from goin to church, I dont have the best to wear either but i still go. When i go to church i just focus on Jesus. They were in the wrong for sayin that. Jesus says come as you are. Don't let that get you , Jesus loves you . He doesn't go on your appearance but what is in YOUR HEART. It was awesome that u went to Church. They should have been payin attention to christ instead of surveying people. Since that did bother you it only shows that you have a Heart and that you were there for the right reasons. May god bless you and may he show the other ladies that they were in the wrong. Keep going to church. You have to do it for yourself. You will face judgement day and you will have to give an answer for your wrong doings. But if you are uncomfortable or dont want to go back to that church try and find another. Don't let that get you down. You are on the right path , just keep moving forward.

So true, you will never find a perfect church, ignorance is running rampid in churches these days. Don't let people get you down, they will cause you to loose out on your blessings. Go and hold your head up high, it doesn't matter what you wear, God looks at your heart. People think they can judge and most do, but we only have one judget that really matters. I wish you many blessings, Never look to man because they will fail you everytime, hold your head up high and keep your eye on the prize...JESUS CHRIST! Stay Strong :)

I don't see many who really dress up when they go to church or any place. Droopy pants, unpolished shoes, don't even wipe the dust off much less polish. Hair that looks like they crawled out of the bed. Any one should fit in no matter what the apperance.
Go to church wear the best you have and dont worry about the one sitting next to you or what any one might say or think. At least you are there.

The reason that people care about what you look like in church is because around here the majority of people are going to church to socialize because that is really the only place that anyone around here can socialize, now I'm not saying it is ok or even acceptable to judge people for what they wear, I'm just stating one reason. I personally think it is unchristian like and unamerican to be concerned with the choices others make if those choices are within the law.

tell me one place in the bible where it says to wear long dresses or designer clothes!!!! OMGOSH that makes me so mad, this is the type of church that wouldn't even accept jesus if he walked through the door with blood on his feet. I would love to go to a church where they snarled at me cuz of what i was wearing, i would get up walk to the front and call them out right then and there i wouldn't care if i got escorted out!!! It's time for our "church" to wake up and stop looking so much like the world!!! If i wanted to go some where and get snarled at i would go to a fashion show and walk on the cat walk thats where this whole crap starts at, designer this and designer that then only time it will stop is when Jesus steps out on that cloud to take us home to be with him!!!!! Can i get an amen!!!!!!

Wear what you want as long as it is decent. People worry about the other fella too much. Wear the best you have and that is all that is required of you. Better to go in what you have than not go at all.
Truthfully folks love to put churches down and excuse themselves.

If the people that are in the church start acting like the bride of christ then there would be more people in the church today. The best that some people have around here is jeans and a hoodie or a big t-shirt and to wear your best should not even be a requirement to go to church the only requirement that should be required is that they love the Lord and want more of him!!!!

I was always raised that Christian women should wear dresses and not jeans/pants. Why...because, supposedly the bible says that women shouldn't wear mans clothing.

However, I always wandered how they deemed jeans/pants mans clothing and dresses woman's clothing when I always seen biblical images of men wearing robes and dresses??? Really confusing stuff 4 me!!!

The whole concept of not wearing pants is full of shit anyways. The kids just change into pants at schhol.

If some people had thier way they would turn America into a Christian version of Iran.
