I used to eat there in another state. It is very good food. They also have a white cheese dip they sell at Kroger.....the best I have ever had. It is worth it to go there at least once. Good food.

Even though the location just opened, the service and the food was just inexcusable. My wife and I (just two of us) were seated at a table for six, and we weren't even asked if we wanted a booth. Then my soup came out before the appetizer, and it was ice cold. I asked if it was supposed to be served cold, and the waitress said no and took it back.

Then ALL of the food came out at once, even though we clearly said we wanted the appetizer first (which you usually get first anyway). The food was all cold, but it had been nearly a half hour at that point, and we were hungry so we didn't complain.

Then the waitress brought my soup again and it was hot.

My wife asked for a baked potato without sour cream (comes with bacon, sour cream, butter, and cheese), and it came with only butter. She asked the manager what was supposed to come on it, and she said, "well, your waitress had it down that you didn't want sour cream. Did you want the bacon and cheese?"

Uh... YES.

At this point I would like to point out that we were the only customers in the restaurant.

All of the wait staff (about ten of them) kept congregating at the hostess station (which was right beside where we had been seated, for whatever reason), and they talked loudly and laughed and asked each other what their names were. Then they would break up for a minute and re-congregate somewhere else, break up and go back to the hostess station. They were so loud that we couldn't even hear the music, so my wife opened her Pandora app on her phone so we could have a bit of music and didn't have to listen to the staff.

So after all of that, we get our check. I put my card in the little folder, the waitress takes it away, and comes back. She says "I'll be back to check on you in just a moment to see if you need a box." (Remember again that we were the ONLY customers in the restaurant.)

It takes her FIVE MINUTES to come back to see if we needed a box. All I had to do was sign my name to the slip of paper. Did she really believe it took five minutes to do that? Absolutely ridiculous.

When we were finally leaving, the ten waiters / waitresses had once more congregated at the hostess station. One of them said, "Well, how was it?"

We said, "alright" and walked out the door.

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I wouldn't eat there again if the food was free.

I'm glad were getting another Mexican restaurant. Sometimes I really like to eat and then get gut wrenching diarrhea afterwards. Now I have another choice.

Its a shame that Daves went out of business and then here comes another frigging Mexican place.

Very "odd" atmosphere .. Not a lot of food for price.. If you want Mexican go to 3 Amigos.. Not trying to bash the place but really did they not do any market research .. Just not the "niche" restaurant for Barboursville :(

Yeah it's right where Famous Dave's used to be. It's absolutely terrible. Probably the worst place I've ever eaten. TERRIBLE service by kids who were definitely not trained to do their job, and food that's obviously been sitting out for at least an hour.

anyplace that the donahues have had their hands on is tainted. it sounds like the same ol shit every restaurant they are a part of. if they are the owners it will be bancrupt & the taxpayers will be forced to bail them out

Perhaps you should have paid attention to the menu. It clearly says this is a TRAINING week. Since I'm commenting I'll talk about my experience here...
I had no problems with Pancho's. Had dinner last night and we are going again today. Their salsa is wonderful and so is the guacamole. I had enchiladas and they, too, were delicious. The food was very fresh, hot and well prepared. The wait staff was friendly and all doing their jobs. I would indeed recommend giving this place a chance.

You either work there or they have fired their entire staff and have hired entirely new people. Training week or not, professionalism is obviously optional there.

Neither, actually.
The food was very good, again. I'll have to admit service was really slow today but it didn't affect the quality of the food at all. Our waiter was very friendly and tried to do everything we asked. He apologized for how slow the kitchen was moving. We tried to be understanding since they haven't been open long and are still learning the recipes.
