I think it is so sad that a parent who also happens to be a byfl board member is permitted to mistreat and abuse their son on the sidelines. I can only imagine what this child endures behind closed doors.

Is this parent a male or female? A new board member? Just curious.

Get over it. Ok? A kid is suffering. And no one is concerned about anything other than Randy?? Give me a break.

I didn't see the incident but don't believe a child is suffering. He has high expectations for his boys and they are great young men. A little tough love isn't always a bad thing. Those boys get plenty of love. No need to worry.

u started this thread bashing someone elses parenting, Just cause u don't agree with some tough love. Go put your kid in time out. And besides it was a dumb call by the b - team coaches. If the incident was that bad and your that concerned about this kids welfare then u should of called CPS and not Topix. Get a life and mind your own business, u nosey biotch!

They sure don't get love from their dad!! And since you didn't see the incident you really have no clue what happened. Maybe you could ask his wife who made a spectacle of herself by screaming at her husband to stop!

I agree with the previous poster. If it was THAT bad then posting on topix is definitely the way to do something about it...sad! Mind your own business!! He's obviously doing something right, his boys are great!!

You must not have a life to be sooo concerned with Randy and the "pirate football" it looks as off you've been following him through the years since Wayne beat Barboursville 3 years ago.. Lmao.. It seems to be jealous situation.. If you have a crush on Randy (since you think about him so much) then go tell him., you obviously know where he is..

Tough love is one thing but a child living in fear of imperfection is another. Give a child a chance to be a child

Sees what?!? Sees one incident that now has this child living daily in fear. You obviously don't know the family or the kids.

Oh pray tell. This dad is a bully to his son in every sport played. This is not an isolated incident. This dad seems nice on the exterior to those who are bluffed easily, which you apparently fit the description. But in reality he'd rather humiliate his child by grabbing and yanking equipment off him just because the boy didn't perform to dads expectations.

Mark my words, this young boy will have problems as he grows older as s result of his fathers actions. Ya know kids just want to be accepted by their parents above anyone. It's what they long for.

Well you can ASSume to know everything about this situation and you can ASSume to know me...since I'm bluffed easily. You're the one that looks like an ASS for starting this topic. Except you are the brave, honest one hiding behind a screen...LOL! It's the people that HIDE who they are and what they believe you have to worry about. I'm getting the feeling "wants to know" is a jealous parent of a kid who sits the bench. Just a thought.

I agree with you guys! It gets ridiculous out there. These dads just want their kids to live the dream they once had or wished they had!

When a child cries at school because he doesn't score perfect on a paper.... That's a bit more than tough love

Posting on any forum is a first for me, but I really feel like some things need to be added here. I was not at this event so I can't speak about what happened Saturday, but this is something that has been going on for years. First of all everyone needs to remember that this is an 11 year old boy. I'm almost positive, from all the previous posts, that the majority of you have children around this age at home. Secondly the child is obviously suffering here, mostly because he feels that he has disappointed his father, coaches and team when in reality a loss is as good as a win for kids. It teaches humility, something that ALL of us need. My question is how long will the parents of other children, coaches of teams and league officials allow this to occur? Only the parents can make this stop. Take a stand and refuse to allow your child/children to play on a team that he coaches. Unfortunately nobody can control what goes on in someone elses home and the child has had such high standards set for years that for him I really don't think much will change. As he gets older he may have a strained relationship with his father, but that is their business. This is a great kid, please don't forget that.

As for Randy, he is as good of a coach as you can get. All of the kids love him as do the majority of the parents. Remember that this is YOUTH sports that you are talking about. It's based on volunteers and he has put more hours in coaching than all of the others combined.
