I would concur with your comments, especially about the editors.
However, the whole Gettysburg ghost stuff has gotten way out of hand. Nesbitt created an industry that made him rich, and too many others started to ride the coattails. While G-burg is much more like an oceanside resort without the ocean, it is also a serious place and a national symbol.
When you start allowing "ghost hunters" to chase after their own profit lines, especially on the field, and at night, you continue to cheapen a place that deserves far better.
As to "ghosts" themselves? Yeah, there's something going on out there, and it probably isn't silly. But allowing people to hunt them for TV shows is.

But here's some good free fun: on any hot summer day, go down to the Triangular Field and pick out a boulder. Sit there and count the number of dupes, or soon to be disappointed "believers," who stand in the field and take pictures of it, then rush home to see of their camera was interfered with by "forces from beyond" as the story goes. Now try to imagine their disappointment when the film comes back with every frame OK.
And yet, can a "Ghosts of Gettysburg,150 be that far in the future? And perhaps this summer there will be 25 tour companies tripping over each other on Baltimore St?
