Don't expect the Barberton Police Department to come up with anything on this any time soon. They couldn't solve a case if the facts and clues were plastered all over a nearby billboard! The worst group of law enforcement officials and detectives in the county if not the entire state!

I was born and raised in Barberton. We have the BEST Police and Detectives here.I am confident they will find out who did this. Why you have to be so negative about them is beyond me.

Well, the medical examiner is on the right track anyway --

"It looks suspicious", said Gary Guenther, investigator for the medical examiner's office.

Ya think??

The Barberton Police have always been here for me, except the time they gave me a ticket for running a red light.

What red light?

They have a job I wouldn't want. Maybe Wadsworth or Medina, but not Barberton. Have you ever went on a web site for child molesters or felons? Pray for the law enforcement people in your community--they need it.

Unfortunately the example of this man's circumstance or the guy who was nearly beat to death by bricks outside a bar and left for dead by people who knew him, plus a few rape convictions here and there make things look bad.

We even have duck thieves down at Lake Anna by Chinese gangs who serve it up at Oriental restaurants in Coventry. How much worse can it get?:-(

Still we are doing better than Akron.

*The above duck remark was paid for by Burger King, who promises no ducks were killed in the making of their Whoppers™

Didn't Red Pepper Steak House get caught doing that years ago, or was that dog they were serving?

a man in barberton with no arms was hired by a church to ring the church bell. since he had no arms he had to ring the bell with his face. One day he fell off the bell tower and the paramedics arrived. The paramedics asked if anybody knew him. A barberton police detective stepped forward and said No, but his face rings a bell.

I lived in the fair city of barberton, for a short period of time (so glad I'm not there now, I couldn't wait to get out of there) I had occasion to call the police dept after an atempted break-in. They were no help whatsoever. So I don't know about the worst, but I was far from impressed!

That is no surprise. I had a similar situation as well and they were no help.

In fact, I had another incident where an ex was causing all sorts of trouble and since I was living alone at the time she tried to blame all sorts of things on me, knowing that I had no alibi. Detective Matt Hudak (not sure if he's there anymore) took it upon himself to believe every word she was saying without investigating the situation first and therefore I had to pay a couple thousand dollars to PROVE that I was innocent. Matt Hudak has hopefully been fired by now.

I think their main concerns revolve around arresting people who owe $10.00 and not enforcing protection orders for other people.

In fact, why don't we ask Clarence Elkins what HE thinks of the law enforcement in Barberton?

The only thing worse than the barberton police department was it's prosecutor who is now the judge.
What a mess, call in the feds, the big purple people beaters will never figure it out.

You people ase so sick, someone has lost a family member and have no clue, and all you can do is joke about interest rates. I bet it wouldn't be a joke if it was your brother, husband or son. My prayers go out to this family.

Jul. 20--BARBERTON -- The Summit County Prosecutor's Office is investigating Monday night's fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Akron man by a city police officer, authorities announced today. Jesse L. Wigle, who lived in Akron with his father and stepmother, was shot and killed during a confrontation behind a northwest pizza shop when he was ordered by the officer to drop a pellet gun he apparently had in his possession, police have said. Instead of dropping the weapon, Wigle pointed it at the officer, and the officer fired at him, hitting him once in the chest, Barberton Police Chief Michael C.
