I too question the capabilities of the Barberton Citizens Hospital Emergency Room. When you have a child (any child under the age of 18), the only place they should be taken is Akron Children's Hospital. I had a recent incident that I am questioning the way the young patient was handled at the Barberton ER on a Saturday.

I went in to Barberton ER with chest pain. They took blood and did test and said I was ok. while the er doctor was telling me to go home and take antacids the nerse came in with the blood test results. Guess what I was having a heart attack. I was moved to Akron general and A heart cath and stent saved my life. I went to Barberton for a Kidny stone years before and they almost Over dosed me with Demeral. They even took me to Xray and after some questions by me, found that they had the wrong person.

I went to barberton citizens bleeding from the nose and was sent home five times before being admitted then the doctor they gave me kept throwing fits throwing things on the bed and walking out of the room. When he stormed in my room and said he was sending me to Cleveland. All this because I could not help but grag with he tried to look down my throat. Never the less I was sent to Cleveland Hospital where there had found that I had a vien in my brain that had burst. I could of bleed to dealth if I would of stayed at Barberton Citizens.

can tell you that the bch in Ohio are dangerous. If someone has medicare then they do everything to keep them 25 days. most of the people that work there have good intentions but are set up to fail. select isn't "patient-first" 's profit first. they are a for-profit company. nurses have 5,6,7 complicated patients. they hire nurses with only nursing home experience and cna's that are lazy and bitter. forget about patients ever being showered or gotten out of bed regularly. infection rates are high because of bad nursing practices. the good clinicians are forced to carry the lazy, incompetent. staff behaves unprofessionally. avoid bch at all costs.
