"These are definitely not rottweilers, these are extremely friendly"
So I take it that Happy Trails Animal Rescue in Ravenna, and Annette Fisher don't accept Rottweilers?

Fisher... I am sorry for the pot-bellied pig, but rottweiler's are not VICIOUS as you stated, it's the way you raise them, & many idiots in this country are the vicious one's that raise them that way. Any breed can be taught to be vicious!

So glad to hear it is going to Happy Trails and will be well taken care of back to health. I just wanted to hug this pig and to show it some love. The longer i live the more I know I much rather keep company with animals than humans. The human race has gone to the "animals" .....People can be so cruel and mean but I believe they will reap what they sow.

Wouldn't it be nice if all of the cruel people would just die? It sure would be a better world.

Reminds me of a trip out in the country not too long ago. I saw a pig with what looked like a wooden leg. I slowed down and asked the farmer what had happened to the pig. He told me how one night his house caught fire and the pig smashed in the door and alerted the family and led them to safety.
What about the leg though I asked. Was he injured in the rescue?
Oh no the farmer told me, but you just can't eat a special pig like that all at once.

Poor Penelope! I will never understand how someone can intentionally hurt a pet. I hope they find the person responsible. But legally, what is the most that can be done, a fine?

i do feel very bad for the pig, and i am happy that she is healing, but when you said its not a rottweiller, that upset me, i have a rottie and she is the most gentle animal there is. everytime someones knocks on my door her little tail starts wagging and she whines, she thinks everyone is coming to see her! shame on you!

You are so right! I am so sick of these people saying rotti's, pitbulls, doberman's etc are aggressive & so mean! Maybe they should look again! It's the way they are raised. Any breed is like that. It so anger's me when they put it on the news or TV about rotti's. I had a rotti from a pup & so smart & gentle. Very protective of the family! I hope people that are reading this that say how mean they are... get a life! Chris enjoy your rotti! My beloved booboo was the best rotti ever!

The smaller breeds are actually the cause of more bites and are more vicious, it's just they physically cannot inflict as much damage. It's a shame there are so many idiot owners making rotties look bad. If I were to get a dog, I'd get a rottie before a cocker spaniel. I've been around a lot of both breeds, and only been bit by a spaniel on my leg.

OMG! The reference to Rotts was merely a comparison to DOGS in general, to illustrate that pigs are not vicious animals. And to the guy that wondered if Happy Trails takes dogs, the answer is no. This wonderful facility works with humane societies and law enforcement specifically where livestock abuse or neglect is involved. It's a wonderful place, run by dedicated, kind and intelligent people and there is always a need for more volunteers.

Annette Fisher needs to make up her mind, they either slide and have road rash or the roll!

"They come in with road rash, where they are hit usually where they skid along the pavement a lot of their skin is peeled back, they usually have other injuries because a pig just doesn't land and then slide they roll."

I hope the pig recovers without further complications.
