you've got to be kidding. no wonder people take no responsibilty for their own actions anymore. let's see, sneak beer into someone's house, get drunk, get hurt, & then hit the lottery ! what a country.

Guy gets into a car with a drunk driver and sues someone else for a resulting injury. He and his family seem so irresponsible. You screw up---accept the consequences.

The guy probably feels justified because an insurance company paid it out.

This is typical of today's society. Blame someone else for your dumb decission. I feel for the young man but he did make some choices here.

We now live in a world where it always someone else fault.

a man who could be charged as an adult for a crime, acts like a child and blames others for his poor choices..so sad, that's why my insurance is through the roof, anybody can sue anybody

And everyone wonders why our insurance rates continue to increase. The yound man should have called his parents for a ride home. I say to the parent's of this child, it could have just as easily been your son driving! What would you have done then?

if they opened the books on where people were at and what they were doing before an accident everyone would be broke or in jail. A very stupid decision by the jury and judge.

This is really ridiculous. I can understand of the parents provide the liquor but if the kids are drinking and the parents don't know then I don't think it's their fault. The kid is 19 and he made the decision to drink and drive. It's his own fault.

He chose to drink, get drunk and get into the car with the other adult that was drunk, and sue him too. Baldwin is completely innocent, alcohol was poured into his mouth, he was forced to swallow it by gun point, and he was dragged and tied into the vehicle, no way is any of this his fault. The guys were hoping to get lucky. Everyone needs to take responsibility for their own actions and pay the consequences. I'm tired of my rising insurance costs because people can't stop suing each other because bad choices were made.

Inasmuch as ALL were drinking, Mr. Baldwin, being of adult age at the time, should be responsible for his own actions. The hosting parents were inexcusably irresponsible, as evidence by their daughter's frequent past drinking issues. Of course, with a Lake Forest address, they can afford the best legal representation and ultimately pawn their egregious irresponsibility and convenient unawareness onto all who pay insurance premiums.

If we really want to stimulate the economy, let's cap lawyers awards at $500,000.

Not only would this free up the courts, it would cut the cost of health care in half.

Another case of someone NOT taking responsibility for their own actions. The kid was 19, old enough to make his own choices and be judged for them. Was he charged with DUI?

Daily Horoscope for December 16

Cancer

Today's New Moon in your sixth house reminds you not to neglect your health or general well-being. It's the ideal time to arrange a check-up with your doctor or dentist, or to follow up a medical query. Cancerians love yummy food, and the festive season is hardly the best time to start a diet, but you still might want to monitor your calorie intake.
