Stupid people. People do not understand that those social networking sites are trouble waiting to happen. A guy that I work with was fired earlier in the year for posting that he wanted his boss dead on his Myspace.

Don't be dumb, keep it in your head.

"Freedom of Speech" within reason! Learned that in my High School Gov't class. You just can not say or type everything - use some judgement.

i have a facebook account. so i did a search. her profile is kept private. For thoose of you that do not know facebook when your profile is kept private it means that only certain people you allow to see it can. I agree you should not post things you do not want read by anyone. But yet where exactly is the privacy law line placed at? If it was marked private and not done at school then her personal life should be kept personal. Within reason of course. Guess it depends on what she did. If it was just a comment she made then people do have the right to freedom of speech. If we believe everything that is posted on the web omg.

I am a Bangor parent and what I am wondering is if she was put on administrative leave December 30th, why are Bangor parents just now hearing about it? What makes it worse is we hear about it not through the school but through a newscast. This is the problem with Bangor schools, never are we informed of everything unless it is done via newscast or our children coming home and telling us.

From the picture of her she looks like a normal everyday teacher. But normal and everyday seems to be not so normal in this day and age. from the looks of it she was a band teacher i do not see how giving homework help could be against her. But we shall see when the story breaks. For the sake of everyone involved my prayers are with them.

I wish I had a teacher that was cute like her. I mostly had old crusty women that still believed rulers were meant to smack knuckles.

Personally I think this is just another News8 grab the story worry about the facts later. I'm sick of Wood TV trying to be first on anything and giving so little information. Get the facts first then post the story.

What happened to freedom of speech?? However, I do recognize there is a point where you can overstep but how far is too far?? I would think if she was on her own time and not committing any crimes then how can they make her resign?? Makes you wonder what exactly was said ... how sad to lose your job over something so stupid. It could've been prevented had she thought before speaking/writing.

You forget... even though at 24 you are supose to act like an adult... she is fresh out of college and college students along with alot of older adults enjoy blogging on facebook and myspace. People say things on those websites to vent to there friends... definitely not thinking that would effect there jobs or lives outside of the internet. She is a facebook and myspace friend of mine and I have worked with her. Deep down she is a wonderful person and at our age we make mistakes.

Everyone makes mistakes, especially young people. It's too bad that some mistakes have such great consequences! More people need to think about those things before posting words or pics. on facebook or myspace. Pick up the phone & call a friend to talk. ANYTHING put in writing ANYWHERE always has the potential of coming back & biting you. In this day & age, young people don't think about that. My space & facebook are a recipe for disaster! Why put all your personal stuff out there like that?!?! I prefer privacy, for one. It's too bad a good person/teacher has lost her livelyhood over venting to friends over the internet. I'm sure she meant no harm. A very tough lesson to learn!

Hi Jeremy, this is your boss. I do not like the fact that you just called me stupid, or telling me what I understand or don't understand. Since just about everyone in my family also utilizes Facebook, MySpace, etc., you have also insulted them. YOU'RE FIRED!
I have forwarded a copy of this incident to every employer and potential customer in our industry. I have included a notation stating that you also believe that you have free will (along with the ability to express an opinion) outside of the workplace and that you will require extensive "re-training" for you to think otherwise. HEIL!
Think about that for a few.(If you don't, I'll send the thought-police over.)

She probably has now ruined her future as a teacher as well, at least in Michigan. So sad for her.

She deserves everything she has coming to her. If you are an educator of any kind, you would think that you would definately know the dangers and problems that can arrise from social networking sites. I use both facebook & myspace for social networking, but none of my pages has anythiing questionable as far as comments or pictures.
As a matter of fact a lot of my coworkers and even my boss has it too and laughs about some of the pics I post. Its not a big deal and can be fun if you use these sites properly! A lot of the younger kids simply dont though!
