Dear city hall,
Just wondering?? Are there any plans in the works for more parking for the summer? Can we get rid of the three hour parking? It is not being enforced. No one is giving tickets. The same think happened last year. No one ticketed for months. All of a sudden the whole entire town got tickets-- this I feel is deceitful. Especially since for the most part we tell the tourist the truth that they are not ticketing.... Than boooom. Lets get rid of it till we build a garage or something.

There's nothing deceitful about giving out tickets for parking vioations when it's clearly marked 3-hour parking. Just because you get away with it doesn't mean the city can't crack down...just saying.
I always warn people about the 3-hour rule.

Everyone knows that they don't ticket. It is impossible to park in South Haven and it just would not be fair. Half of the business owners and their staff would have non place to park all day. It would be a mess for all of us. I think we try out best to park in the lots and the city is nice and turns a blind eye to help us.

If we are calling out the city for suggestion than I think we need more bike racks. People are using benches and posts and trees. There are not enough. It has become a crazy bicycle town. We also need public rest rooms. In the area by Quaker/Phoenix there is not one for blocks on end. It is horrible.

They wait until all the tourist come to town then they give out parking tickets. SoHa hates the tourist but they love their money. You just can't have it both ways.

Agreed on bathrooms and bike racks. We need to label routes to the Kal-haven Trail as well.

South Haven has done a good job with bathrooms. There are 3 different places in or close to the downtown area. They have more public bathrooms than most places.
Now it is another thing when restaurants send their people to the public restrooms because they don't have one.
I agree they could use some more bike racks.

Many store and stands don't have public bathrooms either. So what. They made special arrangements to take care of those bathrooms, clean them all day long. Same thing as having them.

I believe that this outdoor dining establishment did not have outdoor bathrooms. So they made arrangements with the city or whoever to take care of the city/public bathrooms so that they are always tidy for their customers since they are right next to them. Ask them. Edward ot whoever is correct.

I saw several cops today actually walking around. Not oh that in the evening one was checking all the doors of the local businesses and checking in windows. You never see that we're I used to live. That is fantastic.

When is the unveiling of the new Phoenix Street? And when will they start building the new brewery? And is there one coming into the Hotel Nichols garage.

One brewery is enough. It that why they were cleaning out that basement and garage. Always wondered why that space was never utilized. The town is changing so much in the last few years that it is amazing. Heard that a new shop is coming where Bear Claw coffee was as well.

Captain Lou's customers use the Public Restrooms too. It's usually behind a boat parked at the marina across the street.

Susan,
Yes, by code all restaraunts do, but Lou's doesn't have enough stalls for the crowd they entertain. But I shouldn't single out Lou's as the problem.

What I am talking about are the bar customers leaving the restaraunts and bars walking across Dykeman, down Black River St and relieving themselves on the way to their home or car. They often go behind a boat parked on a trailer at the marina, and yes they even find a place to go on our property.
