Is solitary confinement torture?

It is when it is over a month. These prisons that keep inmates in solitary for years are cruel and torturing them. This is another example of how our prison systems are more focused on punishing the offenders than rehabilitating them. They need to be reminded that we gave up stocks and whips many years ago, and are supposed to be more civilized now.

I think all jails all over the country should have solitary confinement for all prisoners everywhere.It should be Mandatory.
