I spoke with Doug yesterday. He is doing Supernawesome!! He's spending the weekend in San Antonio at the Mariot in the Suite. Doug may have been down for a few years but he is doing great these days. I spent a week with him at his place in Bandera last month. I don't drink or use drugs and I had the time of my life! Doug is a former celebrity but he really is a very fun, loving and carting guy. I've also played with doug recently and I'll tell you his new songs that have been written recently blow away his old stuff. I love all his hits but am mostly stoked about his brilliant new stuff. He will be joining Willie tonight for Willie's show out here in Texas. BTW, Doug's main goal
In life is to not be used. He is very jaded by the Music industry and makes himself appear much worse off than he is. I can tell you he is one of the Happiest and Kind people I know! Please pray that Doug has a moment of clarity and focus so that we can all hear his new sings one day soon.

The Houston paper reported:
"We speculated that if he could make it anywhere, it just might be there; old-school saloons prevail on a Main Street singularly bereft (by Texas standards) of churches and other such bastions of moral probity."
Thats a slap in the face to all of us who live in Bandera! How dare you make our town out to be solely here for the drunks and druggies? I'm pretty sure that Houston has its own problems that are far worse than ours. Yes we have issues (Every place does) but all in all Bandera is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. We have raised 3 very well rounded and adjusted young people.

Let's face it if not for the bars Bandera wouldn't even be on the map. It is what the people come for and they can get lots of it in good ol Bandera-Where the mis fits fit.
A good place to go on vacation and go home on probation is what the Express News said about Bandera.

WHATEVER!!!!!!....Let's not forget about the numerous dude ranches that draw tourist to Bandera. It's not JUST the bars. The Express News comment must have been from none other than that idiot, Zeke MacCormack.

Bandera is the cesspool of Texas the laughing stock of most of the USA. Hell even Jay Leno makes fun of us.But Banderaresident you go ahead and be proud of Bandera home of drug addicts and child molester and a law that don,t give a sh-t.

Oh I see, Bandera is the only County in the whole state of Texas and the USA that has drug addicts and child molesters??...BTW, if you look at the Sex Offender Registry, most of the sex offenders are from the Whartons Dock/Lakehills area, that's also where most of the drug problem is, as well. Luckily, I live on the North side of the County.

Wow, I certainly didn't realize that all the retired Winter Texans that fill up the RV parks in Bandera during the Winter time only come here to party. My bad.

I will agree with one thing, our law in Bandera is shi**y.

You are just a little too touchy for me.
Your or your kids ever have trouble with the law? Sounds like maybe you have been on the wrong end of the law huh.
Why so bitter anyway?
Nope, my kids, nor myself have never been on the wrong side of the law. I have a 21 year old child that will graduate college next spring and is on the deans list, and another child that will start college in the fall and graduated a year early from high school.

It doesn't matter were one lives, there are problems everywhere.

Look up zip code 78063 (Pipe Creek/Lakehills) and get the rest of the offenders for that area.. If Bandera (County) is such an awful county, why have you lived here for 49 years? As you stated, Whartons Dock has the biggest drug issue in the county; read one of my posts again, that what I said!! My head is not in the sand, I'm fully aware of the issues here, I was raised here, as well as my husband, and we have ended up raising 2 wonderful kids here.

First of all, stop the bitching about how bad the county is.

Now that I have said that, I surely hope that Doug gets straight and stays straight. I can't wait for him to get back at it. I really don't care haw far this soldier has to drive to see him sing. I would love to hear the old stuff and the new ones also. I have always enjoyed listening to him.

I dont call him daddy, is my life, and son's life. We listen to it every weekend to and from his mothers house, that I get him.
