Hi everyone! I work for a supplier for the Texas toyota plant and I was curious to see if anyone works for Toyota and knows how long it will be before they shut down production. Thanks

Since they came in to town, everybody knew that Toyota is gonna fold. Reality, Toyota plant is gonna be shut down. The south side was thinking Toyota plant was gonna help them grow, but majority of the workers live in the northside, the only thing going good is Texas A&M University campus on the southside, maybe if the Toyota plant shuts down,Texas A&M University can use that as a campus.

They are not closing, just temporarily halting production due to scarce supplies from Japan. Employees will not be laid off.

Why are all the vehicles get recalled from the SA plant? That's the start of the shutdown, halting production, soon Texas will be back to buying Chevy,Ford,Dodge. Be nice to see the Toyota plant turn in to a GM,Ford,Dodge plant.

Not sure where your skewed recall data comes from, but it's not all that accurate. What's even more odd, is that you'd like for the plant to turn into a Ford plant? A automobile manufacturer that's had countless recalls. Clearly number one in recalls.

I know that its just a temporary thing and nobody will lose their job. Just wondering how many more days of parts you have before stopping. Its sad that a lady I work with heard about it on the news this morning then I read it on the internet and our company still haven't said anything to us about it.

The ones who think the plant won't shut down, are the ones that finds out the hard way that its a reality, nothing last forever. That's one of the big secrets that Toyota is keeping from you. The big shots from Japan are gonna do a pick on which plant should be shut down,San Antonio is on top of the chopping block.

I hope it shuts down, then all the gooks can co back to Japan and glow in the dark. They could recycle the glowing dirt from the reactors and manufacture night sights to put on our weapons!

I remember when the Union tried to start up at Toyota. They weren't allowed in the gates but they passed out fliers outside the gates as people went home.
It amazed me to see that NO ONE even payed attention to these guys. The workers were afraid of losing their 10$ and hour job, rather than get paid for what they really should have been getting paid, 17$ an hour and up.
Just imagine how rich Toyota is getting while the little guy makes chump change.
Go home Toyota. Get the fuck out of Texas.

Obviously some people don't know what we get paid...actual Toyota team members start off at 15.00 roughly and make about a dollar every 6 mos. In raises..which don't include our bonuses. So we don't need a f@&king union, most of us make real good money. And we ain't all from the north side,we come from every part of SA and surrounding cities. Your prob upset because they never called you back...

Actually, Toyota did call me to work with them again, TMMTX. But I chose to work for a better-paying job instead, where in the Union I make 5 times more than I would. You're the damned idiot who makes these gooks richer. So go ahead and make shit money while they laugh it all the way to the bank when they cash their bigger paychecks. Idiot.

The title of this thread is Toyota not the Union so who gives a sh*t! It's sad that I'm almost two states away and I work for a supplier and we all know here that Toyota starts out at $15/hour.

Anyone hear of any updates for TMMTX? Regarding shut down days? I read something KENS regarding Toyota employees helping Habitat and building homes on shutdown days. Anyone hear anything else?
