the deputies involved should be fired. bandera county deputies have been killing dogs by shooting them for a long time now and it needs to stop before they accidentally kill an onlooking citizen. Half of the deputies in bandera county shouldn't be allowed to carry guns in the first place and all of them should know the law. Sheriff Tucker says it will not happen again but it will because of lack of supervision and training. Bottom line is no one cares because most are afraid of the police in bandera county

Now the Bandera County Judge and County Attorney are looking into the animal shootings. They need go no further than the local sheriff's office to verify these shootings unless the reports got lost like the County Attorney's sons arrest record. Only in Bandera!

Call Bandera County Attorney Kerry Helgren Schneider and County Judge Richard A. Evans and ask them if they read their own hometown newspapers. They both along with Commissioner Doug King don't believe that deputies shoot dogs and demand proof. Maybe they can't read after all this is Bandera.

"We don't want to cause any problems with the Bandera County Sheriff's Department," he said.

It is truly sad that in Bandera and Kerr county that this is how most people feel !
When the law thinks their above the law, citizens are scared to stand up for themselves.
Who wants to be harassed by the police (I know first hand what its like)
Shame on the police here, their nothing but big BULLY'S !!!!!

The deputies are taking their lead from Sheriff Weldon Tucker. He was the Real County deputy that shot a man from behind in the leg with a hollow point 45 and got away with it. Almost blew the man's leg off. The leg was amputated below the knee after several weeks of trying to save it.Depending on what story you believe he shot numerous times at this man running away from him for growing Marajuana. Tucker changed the story several times in court also. But a jury came back with not guilty. If it had been their son or daughter I bet they would have found him guilty.
The more the Police get away with the braver they become and the more abusive they get, not un-like our "lame duck" County Attorney Kerry Helgren Schneider. She didn't run for re-election this year probably because she could read the hand writing on the wall or maybe it was the suit nameing her in an alleged act of wrong doing "under color of law".
But that is another story.

Now County Attorney Schneider has decided to start sending out letters of inquiry into this illegal practice by the Sheriff's department of shooting stray, abandoned and lost dogs and cats.
Go to www.bandera county courier and read about a citizen documenting several shootings for the Judge, County Attorney and Sheriff. This is a letter to the editor under the heading(OPINION)
Really sad to read this. Especially since the County Judge and at least three of the Commissioners claimed they did not believe the Sheriff's deputies were shooting animals.
I guess when you are a politician it just becomes easy to close your eyes and say you just didn't know.

Bandera County is living in the stone ages.
We only have one newspaper, the Bandera County Courier.
There is an editorial rag in town but that paper won't report any news if it is the least un- becomming to the corrupt county government.
County Attorney Schneider is at her finest when she is threatening someone into some kind of plea bargain.
Schneider plea bargains DWI into "blocking a public roadway" and the drunk ends up with deferred adjudication/probation which will show no evidence of the DWI if probaton is completed plus he or she is back on the public roadways.
Same with BWI (boating while intoxicated) that gets changed to blocking a public waterway.
This public servant serves her own interest and not the citizens.
She has even carried on a private practice from her county office paid for by taxpayers. When I first asked County Judge Richard Evans about her private practice he told me she was only a "part time" county attorney. Several years ago Schneider got a serious raise and then the judge said it was because she was going to be a "full time" county attorney now. Trouble is the ballot people were asked to vote on said nothing about a half time or three quarter time attorney. Just another deception by the county.
Even though Schneider was supposed to be full time now she managed to get sued for something she just did in her private/county law practice.
Seems that was a lie too.

Well, Mr. Sullivan if you don't like the things that are going on in Bandera County why don't you leave or do something about it instead of complain on here.

WOW if you knew you wouldn't say that. If you don't know the situation why not stay out of the conversation?
As a matter of fact I am a member of the organization which took our County animal control facility from a 95per cent kill ratio to a 15 per cent rate. In other words we save almost 95 per cent of the animal picked up in our county by the Sheriff's department. We hold animals for adoption, send some to breed rescues, return some to their owners and we only euthanize seriously wounded or dangerously agressie animals.
Our County Deputies were shooting, gassing and droening animals at one point not long ago. The Sheriff's department managed to kill 95 per cent of all animals they handled.
Part of what I need to do is let people like you know what is happening and try as we do to get it stopped.
I was "complaining" in reference to the story about two Bandera County deputies who force a kid to tie the family dog to a fence and then they shot it. It's a sory I feel very strongly about and I will continue to tell it.
I will suggest to you Mr. WOW if you don't like the subject go away. No one asked to to read or comment in the first place.
I hope you understand now that i have made a committment to saving the animals in my County, what sir have you done about the killing of hundreds of thousands of animals in Bexar county??

Bandera County Attorney Kerry Helgren Schneider just investigated this shooting and found the owner of the dog said the deputies involved acted in a professional manner. This toad of a woman now thinks breaking the law can be excused if the parties involved act professionally. The law states animals involved biting humans are required to be quarantined or humanely killed to test for rabies.
A rifle shot to the stomach is not humane and is not allowed in the State of Texas.
Wake up Schneider and do your damn job.

Now Schneider has focused not on cruel and inhumane treatment of animals by the Bandera County Sheriff's office as she was instructeed to do but rather lynching the only active animal rescue group in the county. Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League CCPAL takes all the animals Bandera County brings in and moves them to breed rescues, back to their owners or gets them adopted.
When CCPAL took over in Feb. 05 the Sheriff was killing 95 per cent of the animals they dealt with in three short years CCPAL reversed that number to approx 85 per cent saved.
With a monthly average at the center of 50-70 dogs CCPAL has successfully saved over 2,000 animals. County Attorney Schneider says CCPAL's success is dismal at best. She has not a clue as to what is going on at the adoption center that used to be a KILLING CENTER under our Sheriff's department. 50-70 dogs is one month's intake and Schneider thinks that is a poor job of placing animals.
The fear is with the Sheriff taking back control of these animals the KILLING will begin again and it will, three short days after animals are picked up they will be killed. Hopefully not by shooting them or drowning then in a cage put in a trough full of water as they used to do. Sheriff Weldon Tucker could not answer simple questions about how many animal calls his people make or numbers of dogs killed. When Judge Evans told Tucker to bring the numbers to the next meeting he said "I can't just tell you it's a lot, I have to have actual numbers"?
Sheriff Weldon Tucker went on to say animal control was not on the top of his list of things to do. He has already tried to get Kerr County to take our dogs but the best they could do is kill all the animals Bandera County brings them.
Now that is taking care of the animals Bandera style. These people have a special place in hell waiting for them.

Judge Richard Evans sat in court in July and promised the contract with CCPAL would remain the same at least for the budget year 2008-2009. Nothing would change before the County could build a new shelter for the animals. So much for that lying SOB who call himself a Judge. Nothing more than a lying politician.
I have known Judge Evans for ten years or more and know him to be a congenital liar.
When Judge Evans wants to kill innocent companion animals because he can't work with local animal adoption/rescue groups it just makes me angry. CCPAL is the second animal rescue group over the last ten years who tried to show the county the error of their ways but the hard headed County Attorney and Judge evidentally hate companion animals.

Sullivan its a known fact you can not get along with anyone and that man is why you nor Bobbie will ever get elected in this county and you just cant stand it. So do us all a favor and move away like out of the country so we dont have to listen to you. You continue to try and use diffrent groups to give a hearing ear to your babble but your running out of listening ears. You are the liar and a user of people and orginazations. Have you noticed the Bandera Courier isnt listening to your nonsense, the only reason why Bandera Bulletine is printing anything is because the writer's mother inlaw is Marlene Heavnor of the late great CCPAL how nice.

Tucker is at the top of the problem.
I think Deputy Wilson should be held accountable for that tragedy. He could have blocked those boys truck in and this never would have happened.
The County and the City have never really had a good working relationship. "It's not my job" theory of management. Someone's head should roll

If Sheriff Tucker isn't shooting people from behind he is shooting dogs. Wonder if he makes the dogs "run for it" so he can shoot them from behind too.
