Yeah, and what do you think San Antonio is "Heavily Populated with Minorities", 7th Largest City in America' yet the crime is not the all time worst in amoungst the 10 most dangerous cities in America...

Do your math as well as your Homework, San Antonio is the second largest City In Texas by Population yet it is not considered a more dangerous place to live...

Anyone who think that the crime here in SA us the worst in the nation' really need to get out and pay a visit to really violent places in America..

It will make your skin crawl

Yup, I'm a NY native. I've also lived in the Baltimore/DC area and traveled to most of the large cities on both coasts.

Crime in San Antonio is minor compared to DC, NY, Baltimore, Miami, LA, Boston, Oakland/SF, and other large coastal cities- or places like Detroit.

San Antonio may have a lot of property theft (given it's nearness to the border), but the violent crime rate is much lower.

Crime is high in those areas where blacks are. It's the jungle bunny in them!

Wow, some people on here are pretty ignorant. I am scheduled to move to SA in the next couple of weeks. I am hoping that the people that I meet and associate with are not like some of the trash displaying themselves on here. I went to Texas A&M University and spent a lot of time in SA. I remember most of the people there being friendly and open. Crime is going to be bad in any bigger city. I am guessing it would be in the best interest of those looking to move, myself included, to check into the different areas within the city as well as those areas surrounding it. I am originally from Washington D.C. and the crime can't possibly be as bad as it is there or even in Dallas. However, it is wise to always be vigilant and do your research pertaining to the various areas. I personally am excited to move to SA and become a part of a nice city with a rich Texas tradition. Those using the internet to pose ridiculous, over the top racist comments are clearly just ignorant. Funny how hiding behind anonymity can give people the courage to be ugly and rude when they would never dare say those things to a person's face, at work, or in a public forum where people can identify you. Cowards. LOL

Go back. No one wants
You here. We have way too many losers from the west and east here, that try to change us thinking they know better about things than the native Texans do.

wow. I wonder if that first person who posted the question still wants to move to SA? If you can handle the cold, Montana is a lot more open and less crime. Just sayin.

We DONT WANT YOU OR YOU LIBERAL THINKING HERE. You liberals have screwed up your own states and now you don't like living there and want to move here, and once you are here you don't like the way we do things here and want to change it. If you think about it YOU PEOPLE HAVE THE PROBLEM, NOT THE NATIVE TEXANS who believe in strong individual rights. You Yankees have given up your rights but we NATIVE Texans will never give up our God given rights! We will not lie down and have our freedom taken from us!

Of course there is crime in San Antonio, as there is in any large city.

But being a New Yorker prior to coming to SA more than 20 years ago (as a member of the military), and having lived in Baltimore/DC as well, San Antonio is NOT dangerous. Even the "bad" parts of San Antonio are nothing compared to the cities on the east coast.

Plus, of course, Texas is a strong 2nd amendment state, and supports the Castle doctrine, so if any dirt bag criminal does come into your house, you can eliminate the problem without fear of persecution/prosecution that you would find on the east coast.

And yeah, you are right, Texans, for the most part, are a whole lot friendlier than folks on either coast. One of the reasons I stayed here (that, and the low tax rate :)

I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here fast as I could, and I'm glad I did.

Get the hell out! You people from the east coast have this opinion of yourselves that you are better than the native Texans! Go back and straighten out your states and quit finding the easy way out by coming to Texas! We are sick of you people and your shitty attitudes and ways!

I moved to San Antonio 2 yrs ago thinking it would be great, but it's been a horrible experience. I'm moving next month to a smaller town.

San Antonio used to be a nice place to live but there are so many people from all over the United States moving that it has become a terrible place to live. I wish it would have stayed a small town.

Try Crackertown. Only problem is that there's nothing but trash there. Own a mobile home? You get first priority.

This is a horrible city. Mexicans everywhere trying to represent what side of town or jail gang they were in. Than u have the black people trying to steal all of everything you own. And did I mention the fuckin dirty Mexicans everywhere. Brown people everywhere. Than u have the white people thinking they're royalty and acting better than everyone else. I hate this city. Lived here forever.

And how does all those people moving there make it worse?

And since when did it become a big city?

I personally, along with my family, are trying as hard as we can to get the hell out of here. I was born and raised here, and unfortunately, it is no where near the same as it was years ago. I am sad that my hometown has become what it has become. No side of town is safe anymore.
Your best bet is to live outside of the city. Try Boerne, New Braunfels, Cibolo, Schertz, etc...
I would have to agree with this post. I have lived here off and on for over 40 years and have seen this city really go down hill. If you like litter just about everywhere you look, dead domestic animals on the roadways and people who willingly use privatized housing areas as illegal dumping grounds; you will love it... Otherwise, live outside the city and only come here to work.
